Culottes, the top pants trend

Los culottes son esos pantalones que son super trendy pero que en muchos casos, no van nada con nosotras. Muchas piensan que no quedan bien, que son unos pantalones "raros" cuyo diseño sale de la mente de algún modisto que no sabia como innovar.  Pero hay que hablar de moda, y los culottes son moda, es mas, si sabes como llevarlos pueden quedarte de lo mas chic y estilosos. / The culottes are those trendy pants that in many cases we hate. Many think they are not flattering, that they are award pants whose design come out from the mind of some designer that didn't know how to innovate. But let's talk about fashion, and culottes are fashion. If you know how to wear them they can look chic and stylish. 

Su historia. / Their history.
Se trata de esos pantalones de bajo holgado y forma estructurada que se asemejan a los pantalones de traje pero adaptados al Siglo XXI. Aunque realmente proceden de la Edad Media y el Renacimiento, si así es, en un principio se trataba de una vestimenta masculina y obviamente no eran tal como son ahora. Eran una prenda propia de la clase alta que han llevado reyes, nobles, e incluso militares. El primero en popularizarlos fue el rey francés Enrique III aunque lo han llevado figuras como el mismísimo George Washington. / There are those pants with flattering hemline and versatile shape that are alike to tailoring pants but adapted to the 21th Century. Although they were really invented in the Middle Ages and the Renascence, they started as a men clothing and they were not exactly as they are today. They were a garment of the upper high class that are worn by kings, nobles and even military. The fist who popularized them were Henry III in France, it has also been wore by figures such as George Washington.

En el vestuario femenino se introdujeron mucho mas tarde como prenda de sport. Esto ocurrió en el siglo XIX ya que se concibieron como una prenda para que la mujer pudiera montar a caballo del mismo modo que los hombres y no de lado, como se hacia por aquel entonces. Posteriormente este tipo de falda pantalón, se rediseño para que la mujer pudiera hacer otro tipo de deportes como jugar al tenis, montar en bici, etc. / In the women's closet they got in later as a sport garment. This happened in the XIX century, they were developed for horseback riding so that women could sit astride a man's saddle rather than riding side-saddle. Later, this bifurcated skirt were redesign so women could play other sports such as tennis or bike ridding.

Como llevarlos. / How to wear them. 
Hay que ser objetivas, quedan mucho mejor a una chica alta y delgada que a una bajita pero vamos a ver como ponérnoslos para que nos quedan divinos y podamos añadir esta prenda a nuestro vestuario. / We have to be objectives, they look nicer on a tall skinny woman than wear by a shorted girl but let's see how to wear them so they will flatter us.

- Si eres bajita o te parecen unos pantalones demasiado exagerados prueba con un modelo corto, que enseñe la pierna y termine a la altura de la rodilla. Al tener mas volumen y ser cortos hará que tu talle parezca mas delgado y largo./ If you are short or you think those pants are over exagerating try a super-short culotte that shows off the leg and hits above the knee. The extra volume and short length make your stems look longer and leaner.


- Si lo que quieres es un pantalón un poco mas largo prueba con unos culottes tipo bermudas que termine justo bajo la rodilla. / If you want a longer pant try a Bermuda-length culotte that hits directly below the knee.

- El culotte mas popular es el que termina entorno a media pierna. Este modelo se parece mucho a una falda midi, crea volumen favoreciendo la cintura y acentuando los tobillos. Si tienes tobillos gorditos el truco esta en combinarlo con botines altos o botas que te ayudaran a disimularlos. / The most popular model is the one that finish around the middle of the lower leg. This model is alike the middi skirt, it flows away from the body and creates a voluminous A-line shape, flattering the waist and accentuating the ankles. If you have fat ankles try to wear it with high booties or boots to conceal them. 


- Otro modelo termina justo antes del tobillo. Si te gusta esta idea quedan divinos con plataformas y crop tops. / Other hit right at the ankle. If you like this idea they look great with platforms and crop tops. 



- Si lo que quieres es acentuar el culo, opta por un modelo mas estrecho que se ciña a la cintura. / A slim-fitting pair of culottes that hits at the smallest part of your waist will accentuate the rear.


Como los llevo este otoño? / How to wear them this fall?
- Apuesta por los culottes de cuero, quedan de lo mas chic. Llevalos de manera casual durante el día combinados con deportivas o mocasines, y pontelos con taconazos o plataformas por la tarde o noche. / Go for leather culottes, they look really chic. Wear them in a sport way for the day by matching them with sneakers or slip-ons and change the look for the evening with a pair od heels or platforms. 


- Pontelos con botines. Los botines siguen estando muy de moda, y quedan de lo mas chic y estilosos. / Wear them with booties. Booties era so in fashion and they look great together.


- Las camisas estampadas estilo retro combinan muy bien con los culottes, dando un toque muy setentero con el que triunfaras vayas a donde vayas. / Print shirt in a retro style look gorgeous with culottes giving a 70's look to sucess wherever you go.


- Lllevalo con chalecos, estos ultimos vuelven al panorama fashion y son lo mas de lo mas. / Wear them with vest, they come back to fashion and look nicer.
