Joseph jefferson farjeon

Joseph Jefferson Farjeon fue un escritor, dramaturgo y guionista inglés nacido en 1883 en Londres y que murió en 1955 en Hove, Sussex a la edad de 72 años.Era nieto del actor estadounidense Joseph Jefferson. Su padre el novelista victoriano Benjamin Farjeon, quien fue un escritor muy prolífico, se casó con Maggie Jefferson y tuvieron cuatro hijos: J. Jefferson Farjeon, Eleanor Farjeon, Herbert Farjeon y Harry Farjeon, todos ellos relacionados con el mundo de la literatura, el arte y la música.
Joseph se casó con Frances Wood, una joven estadounidense amiga de la familia Jefferson y tuvieron una hija: Joan Jefferson Farjeon que fue diseñadora escénica. Trabajó para periódicos y también de manera independiente. Fue un escritor bastante prolífico, además de sus novelas, también tiene obras de teatro y relatos. Ha sido una de esas obras de teatro la que le ha dado más fama. Se trata de: “Nº 17” de la cual se han hecho varias adaptaciones cinematográficas, una de ellas de Alfred Hitchcok en el año 1932.Dorothy L. Sayers fue una gran admiradora de su obra, quien dijo de él: “un insuperable maestro del terror en el marco de las aventuras de misterio”.
