Moda y Cine (3) : Vestidos Rojos

Éste ya es el tercer post en que escribo sobre la moda en el séptimo arte, es decir, en el cine. Hoy voy a hacer referencia a icónicos vestidos rojos del cine, aunque estoy segura de que me dejaré algunos en el tintero, cuento con vuestros comentarios para completar el post ;-). This is already the third post I write about fashion and cinema. Today I`m writing about  iconic red dresses in the cinema, however I´m sure that I'll forget some of them, so as always I expect your comments for improving the post.

Uno de estos famosos vestidos rojos es el que Vivien Leigh como Scarlett O'Hara lleva en "Lo que el viento se llevó" a la fiesta de cumpleaños de Ashley. Los que hayáis visto la película sabéis perfectamente que el rojo del vestido tiene un significado especial. Por otra parte, este vestido es tan famoso  que hasta se hizo una Barbie que emulando a Scarlett O'Hara lo llevaba. One of those famous red dresses is the one that Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O`Hara wears in "Gone with the Wind" for attending to Ashley`s birthday party. Those who have watched the movie know that the color of the dress has a special meaning. On the other hand, this dress is so well-known that there was even a Barbie characterised as Scarlett O'Hara wearing it.

Scarlett no fue la única sureña de la gran pantalla que desafió a su mundo y portó llamativos vestidos rojos, en esa línea encontramos también a Bette Davis que en la película "Jezabel" insiste en acudir al baile anual con un vestido rojo ciertamente inapropiado para la época y sociedad. Sin embargo, como la película es en blanco y negro el vestido rojo no resulta tan impactante como se esperaba. Scarlett wasn't the only southern woman in cinema who defied her own world wearing inappropiate red dresses, Bette David did the same in the film "Jezabel". However the movie was filmed in black and white, so the dress doesn't look as impactant as it should.  

Otro vestido famoso rojo dentro de la historia del cine es el que Audrey Hepburn llevaba en la película "Una cara con ángel" en la que interpreta a una joven francesa que se convierte en modelo. El vestido curiosamente, o probablemente no curiosamente, lo diseñó Hubert de Givenchy (vamos, como casi siempre tratándose de nuestra Audrey) Other famous red dress in the history of cinema is the one Audrey Hepburn wore in "Funny Face" in which she is a French girl who became a model. The dress is as almost all the dresses of Audrey designed by Hubert de Givenchy.

Jane Russell y Marylin Monroe también llevan un vestido rojo que pasará a los anales de los historia del cine en la película "Los caballeros las prefieren rubias", dejando claro que el rojo favorece tanto a las rubias como a las morenas y es que como decía el diseñador Bill Blass "en caso de duda, viste de rojo"

Jane Russell and Marylin Monroe wear also  bling bling red dresses that won't be easily forgotten in the movie "Gentlemen prefer Blondes". Here we can see how red colour flatters brunettes and blondes and like the designer Bill Blass said "when in doubt, wear red".

A final de la década de los ochenta tenemos el vestido rojo de Jessica Rabbit que es, como ella, explosivo y provocativo y es que Jessica encarna a la femme fatale por excelencia.  In the late eighties we've the red dress of Jessica Rabbit that is as herself, explosive and provocative. She is the ultimate femme fatale. 

 En 1990 una joven Julia Roberts protagoniza la película "Pretty Woman" dejando claro que una mujer sólo necesita una tarjeta de crédito y buen gusto para convertirse en una auténtica dama. El vestido rojo que lleva para ir a la Ópera es de esos que no se podrán olvidar fácilmente. 

In 1990 a young Julia Roberts stars "Pretty Woman" showing that a women only need a credit card and good taste for becoming a real lady. The red dress she wears for going to the Opera with her pygmalion is just unforgettable.

 Más tarde es destacable el vestido rojo victoriano que luce Nicole Kidman interpretando a Satine en "Moulin Rouge" (ahora no podemos poner en duda que el rojo también sienta bien a las pelirrojas)
Later it's remarkable the red Victorian dress that Nicole Kidman wears when she plays the role of Satin in "Moulin Rouge" (now we can't doubt that red flatters too to the red-haired)
Y, por último, hacer referencia al vestido rojo que, al final de la película, lleva Marion Cotillard en "Quiéreme si te atreves". Marion Cotillard es una actriz que me encanta y disfruto mucho viendo sus películas (además, tengo que añadir que soy muy de cine francés), si queréis leer una muy buena reseña sobre su última película, echad un vistazo aquí. 

At last but not least, let's talk about the red dress that Marion Cotillard wears in "Love me if you dare", a film that I recommend to you all, even though probably I am not being very objective because Marion Cotillard is an actress that I really like and moreover I love French films.
