Put your hat on

Los accesorios son esenciales, para cualquier armario que se precie. Cambian completamente cualquier estilismo y le dan un toque chic, elegante y estiloso. Entre ellos, no nos podemos olvidar de los sombreros, el accesorio mas antiguo, Grecia y Roma ya contaban con ellos. / Accessories are essential for any great wardrobe. They change completely any look, and give it a chic, elegant and stylish touch. Among them, we can't forget about hats, the oldest accessory, Greece and Rome already got them.


Los sombreros y la historia. / Hats and history. 
Si buscamos la definición de sombrero, obtendremos que es un accesorio para tapar la cabeza. Se crearon para cubrirla y protegerla de los elemento externos, pero también como elementos indispensables en ceremonias, y actos religiosos. No nos olvidemos que los sombreros fueron indicativo de status social, así como de rango militar. / If we seek the definition of hat, we will find that is an accesorie to cover the head. They were made to cover it, and protect it from external elements, but they also wear essential for ceremonies and religious events. We can't forget that hats were indicator of social status, or military rank.


No fue hasta el siglo XVI, cuando aparecieron los primeros sombreros diseñados para las mujeres, el primero de ellos data de 1529, fabricado en Milán. Y a finales del siglo XVII se empezaron a poner de moda entre ellas. Pocos años después, ya comenzado el siglo XVIII, en Italia y Suiza se empezaron a elaborar los primeros con paja, papel, hierba, pelo de caballo, terciopelo y tul.  En la primera mitad del siglo XIX, empezaron a sobre decorar los sombreros femeninos con lazos, plumas, flores... / It wasn't until 16 th Century, when women hats started to be design, the first one was made in 1529, in Milan. At the end of the 17 Th Century they started to be on fashion among the ladies. Few years later, at the begging of the 18 Th. Century, in Italy and Swiss were put together made of straw, paper, grass, horsehair, velvet and tulle. At the first half of the 19th Century, the female hats started to be over decorated with ribbons, furthers, flowers...

En los años 20, se puso de moda el pelo corto en las mujeres, y con el, los sombreros. Después de la Primera Guerra Mundial, los diseños de sombreros proliferaron. Pero tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial empezaron a desaparecer, en los 50, a la mayoría de la población mundial no le sobraba el dinero, e invertir en moda no se estilaba nada. En los 60's continuaron de moda aunque ya no con tanto impetud como épocas anteriores. / By the 20's short hair were fashionable in women, and with it, hats. After WWI, hats designs proliferate. But after WWII, they started to disappear, in the 50's most of the world population didn't have many money, and spend money on an accessory was not in. A decade after, they still in but not as stronger as decades before.

Sombrero años 60. / 60's hat.

Pero gracias a ciertos eventos y tradiciones continuaron vivos. Las carreras de Ascot, son tan conocidas por sus caballos, como por los sombreros de sus asistentes. Estos se han convertido en la etiqueta de dicho evento. / Thanks to few events and tradition they are still alive. Royal Ascot, is as popular for the horse racing than for the hats of the attenders. They have turn into the dress code of the event.


En la actualidad, cada vez están mas de moda. Se llevan todos los estilos desde una pamela, a un borsaliano, hasta una gorra. El modelo lo eliges tu. / Today, they are every year more in fashion. All styes are in from a pamela hat, a borsaliano to a cup. The model, is up to your choice.
Los sombreros: perfectos para el verano. / Hats are perfect for summer.
