The Carpenters: (They Long to Be) Close to You

Sonidos simples y apacibles, arreglos suaves y elegantes, una voz limpia y cristalina que compactaba con unos temas llenos de nostalgia y ternura..., estamos hablando del dúo formado por los hermanos Karen y Richard, The Carpenters. Ellos alcanzaron un éxito extraordinario en los comienzos de los 70; Tres premios Grammys, un Oscar,  cinco canciones en la lista de las canciones más escuchadas, e incluso tuvieron una serie propia de televisión. Pero el fin de esa dorada etapa desapareció como humo frente a un vendaval. Los problemas de drogas por parte de Richard, y la anorexia de Karen, que acabaron con su vida, hizo todo se desvaneciera, y significara el final de uno de los dúos más bellos de la música.
