Tras morir su madre, Joshua "J" Cody (James Frecheville), se va a vivir a Melbourne con sus tíos, con los que, hasta ahora, no ha tenido ningún tipo de contacto. Allí estará bajo la custodia de su abuela Smurf (Jackie Weaver). Aunque se adaptará rápidamente a su nueva vida, no tardará en descubrir que este mundo es mucho más peligroso de lo que nunca había imaginado. Uno de los policías, Nathan Leckie (Guy Pearce), debe atraer a J a la policía, para que sea su señuelo y poder protegerle de policías corruptos y de un submundo paranoico y vengativo. Para sobrevivir, J deberá elegir qué lugar quiere ocupar dentro de este peligroso juego.

After dying his mother, Joshua "J" Cody (James Frecheville), Melbourne is going to be lived by his uncles, with whom, till now, it has not had any type of contact. There it will be under the custody of his grandmother Smurf (Jackie Weaver). Though he will adapt rapidly to his new life, it will not be late in discovering that this world is much more dangerous than he had never imagined. One of the policemen, Nathan Leckie (Guy Pearce), must attract to J the police, in order that it is his bait and paranoiac is able to protect him from corrupt policemen and from a subworld and vindictive. To survive, J will have to choose what place it wants to occupy inside this dangerous game.
