China Town in Buenos Aires is located within the neighbourhood of Belgrano. It has the typical Chinese archway that marks the entrance to all China Towns around the world on the intersection of Juramento and Arribeños. It comes to life during the 1980´s, when a large oriental community established itself in the area. It was mainly composed of Taiwanese immigrants. It is a very small area, which makes for a very difficult delimitation. No one really knows the extent of it as it is an unofficial area of the city.
Immigration from Taiwan and China is currently the fourth largest community living in Buenos Aires, behind the Bolivian, Paraguayan and Peruvian communities.
Along its few blocks, one finds the largest concentration of oriental supermarkets, restaurants and temples, of the whole city.
