Hi guys! I hope you’re all doing well. Lately I’ve been spending most of my days in front of the computer: studying programming, writing my final degree project, the posts… you get the idea. It’s pretty stressful, even if I really enjoy it. And you know what? The way Christmas makes us forget stress and worries, even if just for a moment, is one of the many reasons why I love it. Today I will talk about some of them, and also about the parts that I don’t like!
If the question is if I like Christmas, the quick answer is yes. I love it! I adore the feeling of festivity and gratitude it generates, the lights, the films… and I love meeting my family during this time. I also enjoy shopping quite a lot and during the Christmas season there is always the opportunity to indulge in a treat or two. And what I like just as much if not more: giving gifts to the people I love. I really like to surprise my friends, family or partner!

Something that I also like about this time is that it’s the end of a year and the beginning of another. For many, it’s the way to mark a before and after in their behaviors, relationships, experiences … and for me too. We leave behind what happened, especially the negative, and save the positive and what we have learned to move forward. I’ll admit I’m not good with New Year resolutions, although I always write them down because I value the motivation they give us.
And finally, the only thing I don’t like about this time is that just as it helps us reconnect with the people we love, it also reminds us of missing people. It’s inevitable to miss the times when we were more, and feel a certain melancholy during a time that is full of family, love and celebration instead.

¡Buenos días, chicas! Espero que estéis bien. Últimamente me paso el día delante del ordenador: estudiando programación, escribiendo el TFG, los posts… os hacéis una idea. ¿Y sabéis qué? La forma en la que la Navidad hace que olvidemos el estrés y nuestras preocupaciones, aunque sea por un momento, es una de las muchas razones por las que me encanta. Hoy os hablaré de algunas de ellas, ¡y también de las partes que no me gustan!
Si la pregunta es si me gusta la Navidad, la respuesta rápida es sí. ¡Me encanta! Adoro la sensación de festividad y agradecimiento que genera, las luces, las películas de esta temática… y me encanta reunirme con mi familia durante esta época. Además, me encanta ir de tiendas y en Navidad siempre surge la oportunidad de darse un caprichito o dos. Y lo que me gusta casi tanto: hacer regalos a la gente que quiero. ¡Me gusta muchísimo sorprender a mis amigos, familiares o pareja!
Algo que también me gusta de esta época es el fin de un año y el principio de otro. Para muchos es la forma de marcar un antes y un después en sus comportamientos, relaciones, experiencias… y para mí también. Dejamos atrás lo que haya pasado, sobre todo lo negativo, y guardamos lo positivo y lo que hemos aprendido para seguir adelante. Los propósitos no son mi fuerte, lo admito, aunque siempre los hago porque valoro la motivación que nos dan.
Y por último, lo único que no me gusta de esta época es que al igual que nos ayuda a reconectar con la gente que queremos, también nos recuerda a las personas que faltan. Es inevitable echar de menos los tiempos en los que éramos más, y sentir cierta melancolía en mitad de unos días llenos de familia, amor y celebración.
