Costes en Jordania y consejos de viaje – Costs in Jordan and travel tips

Y ya van cuatro países en nuestra vuelta al mundo. Aquí está los que no ha costado los 10 días que hemos disfrutado en Jordania.

Gran parte del presupuesto se ha ido en cultura debido al coste del Jordan pass y entradas a museos. Comida no ha sido mucho ya que la comida es bastante barata y cosas tan simples como falafel y humus, que no costaban, entre otros entrantes que tienen en Jordania estaban de vicio y no parábamos de comerlos continuamente. Aunque en Petra como todo lugar turístico el precio de la comida estaba por las nubes.

En total nos hemos gastado por persona unos 374 euros incluyendo el transporte desde la frontera y dentro del país. Lo que sumado a los anteriores costes nos hace un total aproximado de 1.670 Euros por persona, desde el 16 de junio hasta el 13 de Agosto, en nuestra vuelta al mundo.

Consejos para viajar:

• Si vas a Jordania seguramente irás a Petra, y si vas a estos dos sitios tendrás que pagar el visado y la entrada, así que te combiene sacar el Jordan pass, que evita pagar el visado te da la opción de entrar a Petra y a muchos museos a lo largo del país. Con lo cual representa un ahorro considerable.
• La mejor época para visitar es Primavera y Otoño.
• Conducir por Jordania es relativamente fácil y tienen indicaciones en inglés para orientarse.
• El sistema de transporte público no es de los mejores, pero preguntando se llega a todos lados.
• En Amman tienes dos tipos de taxis, el clásico con opción taximetro (trucado o no)  y taxi compartido, que va a cierta dirección pero sólo sale cuando está lleno y es mucho más barato. Los diferenciarás por los colores.
• Los viernes algunos autobuses no van o tienen servicio limitado.
• El espectáculo de Petra por la noche no es todos los días. Sólo los lunes miércoles y jueves. Realmente merece la pena, es una de las experiencias que más me han gustado hasta ahora del viaje.
• Petra es más grande de lo que imaginas y hay muchos recovecos y lugares para ver. Si sólo quieres ver el tesoro un día te sobra, si quieres explorar más la ciudad y desde diferentes ángulos, te hace falta tres días.
• Existen líneas de autobuses regulares que van a Petra, no te hace falta un tour privado, excepto que quieras.
• Si viajas con turkish airlines tendrás un 15% de descuento en la entrada a Petra.

So these are the first four countries from our round the world trip. Below are the costs for the 10 days we spent in Jordan.

We spent a big part of the budget on the culture part, due to the price of the Jordan pass and the admission fees for the museums. The food did not cost too much, since the food is quite cheap, and simple dishes, like humus and falafel, among other starters they have in Jordan were very tasty and we could not stop eating them. Although in Petra, like in any other touristic place, the prices went up.

We have spent in total 374 euros per person, including the transport from the border and inside the country. Added to the previous costs, we have a total of 1670 euros per person, since the 16th of June until the 13th of August, in our round the world trip.

Tips for traveling in Jordan:

• If you go to Jordan, you will for sure go to Petra, and if you go to these two places, you will have to pay the entry visa, so it is very good to buy the Jordan pass, that waives the visa fee and gives you the chance to visit Petra and many other museums in the country. So this will be saving you a lot of money.
• The best time to visit the country is spring and autumn.
• Driving in Jordan is relatively easy and the signs are also in English, to help you orientate.
• The public transportation system is not the best, but asking gets you everywhere.
• There are two types of taxis in Amman: the classic one, with the meter (rigged or not) and the shared taxi, that goes in a certain direction, but it leaves only when it´s full and it´s much cheaper. They have different colors, so they are easy to differentiate.
• Some buses do not go on Fridays or they have limited service.
• “Petra by night” does not take place every day, but only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. It is really worth it, this is one of the experiences I liked the most during our trip.
• Petra is much bigger than you imagine and there are many small places to see and discover. If the only thing you want to see is the Treasury, then one day is enough, but if you want to explore more of this city and from different angles, you need three days.
• There are regular buses to Petra, there is no need to have a private tour, unless you really want it.
• If you travel with Turkish Airlines, you will have a 15% discount for the entrance to Petra.
