"You always like to talk; you really think that I don't care"
Following the review of the local groups that will play in this year's edition of FIB, today is the turn of The Last Band, a group from the small town of La Vall d'Uixó in Castellón who has called the attention of a public that is getting less and less easy to be convinced by new musical proposals. The classical line-up of guitarist, bass guitarist and drummer know how to blend the three instruments in such a way that none of them highlights but show a balance that helps them sound fresh and spontaneous, which is something quite hard to get.
The EP Songs From A Room is illustrative of this sound. I want to bring out See You, Shut Up, The Cross and Become A Man in particular. In the opening track you get instantly caught by the bass line while the soft guitar plucking gives way to the firm and intense drumming. Together with A.J.Torrico's vocals, the peak of the track is held by the modern and addictive riff that goes along until the very end of it.
As well as other local groups, The Last Band have reached the semifinal of this year's edition of Radio3 Proyecto Demo, which has earned them instant recognition as one of the top names in the local indie scene. Their show at Villacamp stage in the 2011 FIB on July 11th will surely cause a significant increase in the number of followers, I am already one of them.
