For the publisher:

Thank you to the Journal for acknowledging the generous grant given by the New Ulm Area Foundation to the CTE fundraising campaign. Their $ 20,000 donation was used to purchase industry standard welding booths for the CTE Center.

However, we would like to make a correction to the article. The district does not spend $ 2.2 million from the general fund on the CTE program. $ 2.2 million is the dollar amount the district spends on other federal and state student program requirements that are not fully funded.

The CTE fundraising committee is an effort of local business owners and community members with the ISD 88 Foundation as the fiscal sponsor. Our goal is to raise $ 500,000 to provide industry standard equipment that students can learn about so they have the experience they need to transfer directly into the local workforce.

Thanks again to the New Ulm Area Foundation for recognizing the community's need for skilled workers and for their donation to meet this need. Thank you also to all the generous donors who helped us reach $ 200,000 of our goal of $ 500,000.
