Cuando no está escribiendo viaja con su esposo en una caravana por el estado de Maine disfrutando de la naturaleza.Nunca le gustó escribir pero desde muy joven ya era una lectora voraz, hasta las cajas de los cereales leía e iba a la biblioteca pública y en la sección de niños le decía al bibliotecario que le buscara libros sin dibujos.No fue hasta sus cuarenta años cuando se le ocurrió escribir algunas ideas que rondaban por su cabeza. Así sin tener mucha idea se encerró durante seis semanas para escribir su primera novela romántica, se dio cuenta de que disfrutó escribiéndola y la guardó en un cajón, después de esa llegaron dos o tres más. Pensó que nadie iría a su casa a preguntarle por sus libros, entonces asistió a varias conferencias de “Romance Writers of America” así envió su primer libro a una editorial de Nueva York y les gustó y firmó un contrato.
