Menswear Milan Fashion Week is one of the most interesting after Paris Fashion Week. Thist time, seeing the show I've surprised myself when brands arouse 0 interest in me I liked and other brands I adore have not liked anything. Here's my opinion about.
CALVIN KLEIN COLLECTION
Lately I like the Zucchelli's work at Calvin Klein Collection. In this collection we can see a clear self-reference in the graphic sweatshirts with the names of its best-sellers fragrances, a bit of layering and shiny fabrics in a introduction of materials research predominating the brown color shades. PRADA
I review the Prada Fashion show because is one of the most influential fashion companies, not because I particularly like it. In fact I think is one of the weakest Prada Menswear collections. I don't know if it's the inclusion of womenswear pre-fall that retracts prominence to male collection or that it's a rather austere collection compared to previous Miucca Prada collections but has left me quite indifferent except some looks combining fur with nylon.
JULIAN ZIGERLI
Julian Zigerli debuts at Milan Fashion Week invited by Giorgio Armani with a colorful collection dominated by volumes. The swiss designer makes an artistic research into prints simulating honeycombs using innovative fabrics and materials. Accessories as backpacks, masculine bags and slippers put the finishing touch to an eclectic and trendy collection.
MSGM
I like MSGM because it's a not aspirational brand that adapt the trends creating suitable fashion. It's self-concious of its commerciality and for that realizes collaborations with collectives as Toilet Paper becoming an young italian brand away from stereotypes of italian fashion. In this collection close us viewed trends giving them a new life as the marbled and camo prints and the layering.
JIL SANDER
The brand has experienced convulsions recently with the chairs game in the role of creative director since the departure of Sander in its own brand. But seeing this collections seems that apparently nothing had happened because the creative crew of Jil Sander still working in impressive collections. In this case, the minimalism is captured in a collection moving between the grayscale and shiny effects.
NEIL BARRETT
References to abstract impressionist painter Mark Rothko set the tone to Neil Barrett's fall winter collection where we can see ombré on leather jackets, structured volumes and ray as graphic element. Color shades ranging from klein blue, browns to black in a show where the brand optical has taken a prominence.
ANDREA POMPILIO
It seems that the polka dots are the big inspiration for Andrea Pompilio in its Fall Winter 2014 fashion show in which blue scale and black play the main role. Deserves a special mention its fur hats and the metallic embellishments. GUCCI
I usually don't like Gucci because it's away from all I consider good taste but out of curiosity I took a look at its last fashion show and I have to say that I'm surprised for good. Specially all the looks with dusty pastel colors have captured my heart.
