The Hispanic - American Art museum "Isaac Fernández Blanco" is located in the Palacio Noel, built in the 1920´s by architect Martín Noel. It can be found in the Retiro Neighborhood, on Suipacha 1422. The actual museum began exhibiting its collections in the 1910´s and the art work was only transferred to its actual location in 1947.
This was the first private museum in Argentina, and it grew because of the constant donations of its founder, Isaac Fernández Blanco, who spent his entire life acquiring new pieces for his collection. These were followed by other donations made by the most aristocratic families in Buenos Aires, who wished that some of their belongings could be visible to the general public.
Its collection is focused on art work from Latin America, spanning from the times of the discovery of the continent up until its independence.
Unfortunately no photography is allowed inside the museum, so the pictures that follow are of the interior courtyards and the building´s facade.
