Museo Laberinto [Day at the museum]

Después de escribir un post sobre Legorreta, y con toda la emoción y entusiasmo que me causa ir a un museo, fui con algunos familiares al Museo Laberinto de la Ciencias y Artes en SLP, México; ¡y les traje algunas fotos! After writing an entry on Legorreta's work, and filled with the emotion and excitement that going to a museum brings to me, I took some of my relatives to the Laberinto de las Ciencias y Artes Museum, and got some nice pictures to share with you! Agradezco a mi querida Tita (aka Mal_4Ls) y Gerardo (aka GePAa), por ser los fotografos oficiales de la visita. /

You guys are awesome!Como les compartí hace un par de semanas, el arquitecto Ricardo Legorreta Vilchis, es mi arquitecto mexicano favorito.  Con sus edificios espaciosos, llenos de luz y que frecuentemente van combinados con esculturas y formas geométricas de gran formato, el señor Legorreta tiene su lugar asegurado en mi sección de Heroes.A couple of weeks ago, I shared with you guys my sincere appreciation for Ricardo Legorreta Vilchis' work. He is my favorite Mexican architect, and has a special spot within my Heroes, thanks to his spacious buildings, full of light and that frequently are matched with modern sculptures and oversized geometric figures. Tunel de madera en el Museo Laberinto  /Wood tunnel. Una de las partes que más me gustan de este amplio edificio. /One of my favorite parts of this spacious building. Este museo fue inaugurado en Septiembre del 2008, y desde esa primera vez que lo visite, el día de la inauguración, me encanto y me dio curiosidad por conocer más sobre su creador. This museum opened on September 2008, and since that very first time that I visited it, on the lovely evening of the opening ceremony, I fell in love with the place and felt the urge to know more about it's author. El observatorio del Laberinto / Museum's observatory.El Laberinto es un museo de ubicación privilegiada. Desde allí se puede apreciar muy bien el valle potosino, y por lo mismo de que está en un lugar más elevado que el centro de la ciudad, y justo al lado del bastante grandecito Parque Tangamanga I, (¡es Tangamanga no Tangalanga eh!); se respira un aire limpio y fresco.El diseño de este edificio tan estético y refinado combina perfectamente el paisaje desertico de San Luís Potosí y el colorido que destaca a la cultura mexicana. Laberinto Museum is located at a privileged spot. From a higher point than the rest of the city, you can see the Potosino Valley, and since it is located right by the  1037 acres of Tangamanga Park, the air over there is very clean and fresh. The layout of this refined building combines perfectly the desert surroundings of San Luis Potosí, and the colorful elements that identify mexican culture.En el patio central podemos encontrar un laberinto creado con (cactus) orgános. / In the main patio, right were the observatory is located too, we can find a laberint made out of cactus named "orgános". Los pisos del museo están hechos con piedras son materiales representativos de la región, los patios y jardínes están decorados con cactus y plantas desérticas. De acuerdo a la firma Legorreta + Legorreta, el diseño del edificio está inspirado en las Haciendas Potosinas.The floors of the museum are made of stones from the region, and the patios, terrace and gardens are decorated with different types of cactus and desert flora. According to the Legorreta + Legorreta signature, the design of this building was inspired by the ancient and luxurious Haciendas of San Luís Potosí. 
¡Les juro que me gustaría vivir en ese museo! ...Y ya estando mi casa de verano sería Versailles  y mi casa de retiro el Palazzo Vecchio!I swear I would love to live in that museum! - Or at least be the host of a nice party! - If I was that lucky my summer home would be Versailles, and my retirement home Palazzo Vecchio!

Y por último un video-homenaje de Bellas Artes que encontre en el canal de YouTube de la firma. Last but not least, a lovely homage to the architect, in the form of a video.
