No dissapointments in Paris. Still waiting the reviews of heavyweights of PFW as Saint Laurent, Chanel, Louis Vuitton... There's a second review of collections I most enjoyed.
JEAN PAUL GAULTIER
Talent is not enough, Attitude is necessary and Jean Paul Gaultier knows how to do it. Nothing new was presented in this show but was a high dose of show business, entertainment and brand identity. This time, the collection was inspired by rock reinterpreting the leather perfecto. Coco Rocha as Danny Zuko, Karlie Kloss dancing like a star and the One and Only Rossy de Palma. That's entertainment.
CÉLINE
Much less conceptual than the past seasons, the Phoebe Philo SS14 collection for Céline comes as a blend of late eighties inspirations dominated by graphic design. Like an Tony Viramontes 3D illustration Céline women is influenced by Brassaï's graffiti, African influences and the Memphis Art Group. In short, an appealing collection that becomes a must.
GIVENCHY
No signal of New Gothic and graphic elements, Riccardo Tisci's hallmarks. Something new is happening in Givenchy with this collection crossing Japanese and African cultures found in kimonos and wrapping. And finally, the makeup by Pat McGrath was breathtaking.
