Tubular chamber 68, pump 79, and fluid reservoir 69 are supplied with biocompatable fluid by means known to those of skill in the art. Prosthesis 65 is then implanted by surgical means known in the art. Once implanted, when an erection of the penis is to be produced, the user squeezes distal section 75. On repeated squeezing and releasing of the distal section, fluid fills tubular chamber 68 substantially to capacity and the desired stiffness and girth of tubular body 67, and the penis, is attained.

'A reservoir within a reservoir' - An unusual complication
The user deflates the prosthesis 65 by laterally squeezing tubular body 67 at the valve block 88, as in FIG. 69, or by bending tubular body 67 at cone 86, as shown in FIG. 68. The squeezing or bending deforms valve block 88 and allows fluid to flow from tubular chamber 68 past cone 86 through passageways 96 and 97 and tube 66 to fluid reservoir 69. Alternatively or simultaneously, fluid flows from tubular chamber 68 past cone 86 through passageway 98 between outer layer 86 and middle layer 88 to passageway 97. On removal of squeeze or bend forces on the valve block, the seat 95 returns to its original shape, and the cone 86 creates a seal with the valve block 88.

The double flange valve 79 includes two flanges 76 and 78 which are held together by several spring retainers 85. O-ring seal 87 between flanges 76 and 78 seals the two flanges 76 and 78 to prevent fluid flow between the two flanges 76 and 78 when the valve 79 is closed.
Both implant types are custom fitted to your body and allow you to have a satisfactory erection for sexual intercourse. Your sensitivity and ability to ejaculate are not affected. The primary difference between the two penile prosthesis types is that flexible rod implants (the Genesis) produce a permanently firm penis, while the inflatable prosthesis (the Titan) produce a more natural erection.
When the penis is inflated, the prosthesis makes the penis rigid, similar to a natural erection. A penile prosthesis does not change sensation on the skin of the penis or a man 8767 s ability to reach orgasm. Ejaculation is not affected. Once a penile prosthesis is put in, however, it may destroy the natural erection reflex thus resulting in a loss of that "blood rushing to the penis" effect. The implant renders one with a penetrating penis, it does not cause swelling (tumescence) of the head (glans) of the penis.
Pressure valve 78 and suction valve 85 are as described in above . Pat. No. 9,595,977. Both valves include an enlarged housing 57, a coiled spring 59 and a valve member 56. The coiled spring 59 biases the valve member 56A of valve 78 proximally and the coiled spring 59 of valve 85 biases valve member 56B distally.

FIGS. 7 and 8 show in more detail the valve system of FIG. 6 consisting of pump 79 (shown partly), valves 65, 67 and 69, and valve block 68. In FIG. 7, the valve system is in the second closed position or the pumping position. Bend valve 69 is sealed against valve block 68 so fluid can flow from the fluid reservoir through central lumen 66, bend valve 69 and low pressure check valve 67 into pump 79.
