Over the years, the presence of solar energy is increasing in our projects. One of the latest developments in this field is the use of the Grätzel cell. It has a very low cost of manufacture (it's simple) than the traditional and it’s performance is higher, since not require direct light to produce energy, so we can use it on vertical elements. It also uses colored molecules to produce energy, which is what allows architects use them as a design tool.
And that is what they have done in the Swiss architectural firm, Richter Dahl Rocha-Associés in his project for the Centre de Conférence Swisstech where Grätzel cells have been used for the design of a solar glass wall. It is 300 m2, a height of 15.20 meters, and at least 1500 cells that produce energy equivalent to that required to feed 3 houses. The design comes from the hand of CatherinBolle, lausannoise artist who used the range of reds, yellows and oranges, to make the composition. But still have to wait a bit to see the light, the end of 2013.We cannot wait! Good week end everyone s!
