- Mae, ¿diay?
- Estoy ruleado de tanto brete.
- Mae, jale por una birra.
- Tuanis mae, recojo los chunches y nos vamos.

Did anyone understand something? Possibly, just our Tico readers (Costa Rican readers) understood what is this all about. Don't worry about it, this post is for Americans, European, Asian... people from all over the world.

We're more than happy to have Arteria ® as our sponsorship for national identity items to use on our trips. Adrian isn't from Costa Rica, but I'm a Tica that uses a "diay" as a greeting, as well as for a request or a question. I'm a Tica that doesn't say "wait up" and instead of that I would use " suave, un toque", a Tica that knows the difference between "mae" for a girl and "mae" for a boy.

Arteria ® was founded by designers Eugenie Murillo and Carlos Mena who had a brilliant idea: to reinforce our nationalism and national identity.

Perhaps, no all of us use words like "yodo" (coffee) or "tuanis" (nice), however, those words are part of what we are and all of us understand perfectly when we hear them. As Ticos, we've popularized our particular accent and language and we can feel proud of that and other "costarriqueñismos" (Tico talk) that now foreigners know.

Now we travel with Arteria's products and wherever we go, those who know our culture will recognize us.

We love the idea of traveling using these products and to be recognized by someone abroad. Costa Rica is a really small country, but we don't have any doubt when we say that its cultures gets into anyone that gets in touch with it.

We've chosen Arteria ® because we want to spread the word about their work. We feel proud of Costa Rican culture and Adrian is like one of us now

Believe me, it's kind of funny when you hear a Spanish asking to drink a "yodo" (coffee) or saying "Mae, joder" instead of "Tío, joder" haha.

As a country, we've got some issues as others countries in the world, and we continue to be a developing country, but none of those things is actually a bad thing. It's our way to see everything, we're Ticos and we're relaxed people haha. We have "bretes" (jobs) to go to, some have "yuyos" (babies) on their homes, and some like to go out on weekends for a "birra" (beer) with the "compas" (friends). Let's feel proud and let know the world the place we come from

Yes, yes... from that little country some joke about for being so small sometimes you don't find it on the map. Yes, yes... Costa Rica is small but its people have a big heart, don't they?

Let's be proud about it too!
