Yarnbombing invades Madrid
Yarnbombing returns to the streets of Madrid. If last week was Lavapiés the aim of a large number of ruthless weavers, this time is the area of Tetuán which will suffer a Yarnbombing attack with Christmas motifs. The idea is to decorate the marquees of Tetuán´s youth center, and showing the knitted pieces until January.
The organizers, El Taller Coronado "Federico Rubio", Bichus and TPJ, invite people of all ages to a series of meetings that will take place this month of November, to learn or to teach knitting with the attendees. All you need to join is wool, needles and enthusiasm.
Yarnbombing is a form of street art that can be equated to eco-friendly graffiti, since it consists on decorating objects with knitting and crochet fabrics. It is not visually aggressive and does not alter the surface on which it is placed, it is easy to remove, which does not happen with the paintings.
