Los famosos se apunas a usar las bicis

Hace no mucho me plantee ir a trabajar en bicicleta, es rápido, cómodo, ecológico, y saludable, porque no? Cuando mis conocidos, y compañeros de trabajo se enteraron, pensaron que estaba loca, como se puede ir en bicicleta vestida como lo hago yo? iba a cambiar mi estilo? y que pasa con los tacones? / Not long ago I came up with the idea to go to work by bike, is fast, comfortable, ecological, and healthy, why not? When my acquaintance and coworkers found out they thought I was nuts, how could I drive a bike dress the way I do? I was going to change my style? and what about the heels? Obviamente, ni iba a cambiar mi estilo, ni pretendía dejar mis tacones en casa. Que pasa con las chicas holandesas que van ideales sobre sus bicicletas, si ellas lo hacen porque el resto no podemos? / Obviously, I wasn’t going to change my style, neither intended to leaves my heels at home. What happens with dutch girls, they dress gorgeous on their bikes, if they do, we can too. No son tabus. / They are not taboos. 1. Faldas si. / Skirt yes.
Si, se puede ir con falda en bici, incluso con mini. La mejor forma de hacerlo, para estar mas tranquila, es llevando unos pantaloncitos debajo. Busca algunos de deporte, o corta unos leggings y hazlos pantalón, son comodisimos. / Yes, you can wear skirt ridding a bike, even a mini skirt. The best way to do it, so you will be comfortable, is wearing behind shorts. Find a sport ones, or cut a a pair of leggings and make them shorts, that are too comfy.

Un truco para que no se te levante la falda, sino quieres llevar nada debajo, es que la sujetes con una cinta o cinturón, átalo a media pierna, de tal modo que no te estorbe al pedalear. También puedes atarte los laterales de la falda con pinzas. / One trick so your skirt won’t blow, in case you don’t want to wear nothing underneath, is to tight it with a ribbon or belt, tie it mid-calf, so it won’t interfere when pedaling. You can also tie the sides of your skirt with clothespins.  En invierno es mas sencillo, evita las medias, y escoge leotardos, hay algunos que son ideales, y por mucho que se te pueda levantar la falda, nadie vera nada. Pero si quieres ponerte medias,  ojo, se pueden romper, unas mallas encima las protegerán. / In winter it is easier, try to avoid thin tights, and chose woolen thighs, there are fashionable ones, and it doesn’t matter if your skirt lift, no one will see anything. But if you want to wear tights, be careful, a pair of leggings over will protect them. 2. La bici y el tacón. / Bikes and heels. 

Aquí rompemos otro tabu, si se puede llevar una bici con tacones. Eso si, si estas empezando a cogerla desde hace tiempo, empieza con unas deportivas hasta que te hagas con ella, luego ya puedes pasar a los tacones. / Hear we brake other taboo, yes you can cycle with heels. But if you are starting to drive your bike, start with sneakers until you get use ti it, after that you would be able to cycle with heels.

 
Intenta evitar taconozos muy finos, ya que son peligrosos, y encima, estropearas tus zapatos. El calzado mas cómodo son las cuñas, con ellas (da igual lo altas que sean, claro siempre dentro de un limite) podrás llevar la bicicleta sin problema. Y sino opta por tacones gordos. Deja los tacones finaos XXL para la cesta, y cámbiate de calzado cuando llegues a la oficina. / Try to avoid high stilettos, they are dangerous plus you can break them. The most comfortable footwear are wedges (no matter how tall they are, of course, always with a limit) you could cycle great. If not go for wide heels. Leave thin oversize heels for your basket, you can change when you get to the office.

Ventajas de ir en bici. / Benefits of cycling. No pretendo convencer a nadie para que vaya en bici, por supuesto que no, pero estoy tan contenta con el resultado que tengo que compartirlo contigo. / I don’t pretend to convince anyone to cycle, of course not, but I am so happy with the results that I have to share them with you.  Hay tres tipos de personas (en lo que a bicis respecta): los que van en bici, los que no van en bici pero les gustaría, y los que jamas irán en bici. Lo importante, ante todo, es que respetemos a los demás. / They are three types of person (as far as regards bikes): those that cycle, those that don’t cycle but will love to, and who would never bike. The most important, hear, is to respect each other. Desde que voy en bicicleta a trabajar, estoy mas contenta. Llego a la oficina feliz, sonriendo, como si me hubieran dado un chute de adrenalina en estado puro. Si, son las endorfinas que genero en cuanto empiezo a pedalear. / Since I cycle to work, I am happier. I arrive at the office happy, smiling, as if I have been given a shot of pure adrenaline. Yes, are the endorphins that I generate as soon as I start pedaling.  Aparcar en cualquier sitio es un lujo. Ayer había quedado con mis amigas en un centro de belleza para hacernos un tratamiento, me daba tanta pereza coger el metro, que decidí ir en bici. Fue perfecto, disfrute de las vistas de Madrid, y aparque muy cerquita del sitio. Ah! y encima llegue la primera de las tres. / Parking anywhere is a luxury. Yesterday I had meet my girlfriends in a beauty center to get a treatment, it was so lazy to take the subway, so I decided to cycle. It was perfect, I enjoy the sights of Madrid, and parked very close to the place.  My bike.

Sugerencias. / Suggestions.

1. Si vas a comparte una bici de paseo, para ir a trabajar y andar por la ciudad (porque al final terminaras utilizándola para todo), mejor una con cubrecadenas. Es mas limpia e impide que se te manche la ropa. / If you are going to by a city bike. to go to work, and go around the city (bacause you will end up using it for everything), better with chainguard. It’s cleaner and prevents you from mark your clothing.

2.  Tápate bien el pecho, y el cuello. Es fundamental, sobre todo para las bajadas porque coges mucha velocidad y puedes coger frio. / Cover your chest and neck. Is esential, especially in the descent, you get a lot of seed and can get a cold.

3. Canda bien, y aparca tu bici en alguna calle principal; cuanta mas gente pase mejor. Sino sabes como candarla, metete en Youtube, hay unos tutoriales buenísimos. / Lock it well, and parke it in a main street; as many people will pass by, the better. If you don’t knos how to candel, go to Youtube, they have awesome videos you can learn from. 4. Por la noche, usa chalecos refractantes. Si, bonitos no son, pero si necesarios. Un truco es buscar chalecos infantiles a nosotras nos cubren lo necesario, y quedan mas monos. / During the evening use, a reflective vest. Yes, they are terrible, but needed. One tip, is to sheek children vest, they are big enought for us (lady) and look nicer than the regular ones. Accesorios chic para tu bici. / Fashion accesories fot your bike.

Es increíble la de accesorios que puedes encontrar para una bicicleta. Desde cascos, alforjas, fundas para las cestas, bolsas, chalecos, etc. / There is incredible how many accesories you con find for a bike. From helmets, saddlebag, basket covers, bags, vest, etc.

Llevar casco o no depende de ti, en vías urbanas (al menos en lo que te respecta a Madrid, y en cualquier país del norte de Europa) no es obligatorio. Una firma curiosa es la francesa Casque en Villa, tienen cascos que luego puedes customizar con fundas a modo de gorros, boinas, y demas. / Wearing a helmet or not is up to you, on urban roads (at least in Madrid and north Europe) is not mandatory. An odd brand is the french house Casque en Ville, they sale helemets that you can coustomize with covers, they will look like hats, cups, berets, and more.

Como curiosidad hay una firma llamada, Hovding, totalmente estrafalaria, que se dedica a la protección del cicilista. Diseña cascos y protectores de cuello ergonimicos, que en caso de impacto actúan com airbag. / For weird, there is a brand name Hovding, that focus on protect the cycle rider. They design ergonimic bicycle helmets and collars, that in case of impact act as a airbag. La firma inglesa Brooks, trabaja con accesorios de piel de gran calidad para bicicletas. Se trata de accesorios vintage, muy clasicos. Me parecen ideales, para ellos, para nosotras demasiado masculinos. /  The British brand Brooks, works with high quality leather goods for bicycles. They are vintage and classic. They are perfect for men, but for us, too masculine.  Una web de venta online es Cyclechic, en ella podrás encontrar cascos de todos los tonos y estampados, fundas para cascos de diseño, bolsas, cestas, protectores, chalecos refractantes, y accesoriso divertidos. / A online webside is Cyclechic, there you would be able to find all colors and prints of helmets, designer covers for helmets, bags, baskets, legwarmers, reflective vests, and funny things. Ellos también se suben a la bici. / They also cycle. 

Es una pena pero en Madrid la gente no esta habituada a ver bicicletas, y mucho menos a respetarlas.  Tristemente es una de las ciudades de Europa mas peligrosas para ir en bici, pero estoy convencida que podemos cambiar las estadísticas. Si ves a alguien en bici, y vas con coche se paciente, y respeta las distancias, tienen tanto derecho como tu en circular por la calzada. Es mas, la Comunidad de Madrid promueve el uso de bicicletas, siendo estas el vehículo prioritario en toda la ciudad. / It’s so sad but in Madrid, many people are no use to bikes, and less of respecting them. It’s one of the worst European cities to cycle, but I am positive we can change that. Is you see someone cycling and you are driving be patient, and respect the distance, they have the same rights to ride on the streets. Also Madrid, is trying to promote cycling, due to that bikes are the prioritary vehicle to be on the road. Feliz Semana!!! / Happy week!!!
