Raf Simons does it right | Christian Dior Fall/Winter 2013-2014

Hace algo menos de un año muchos dudaron de Raf Simons y de su, por aquel entonces, nuevo puesto como director creativo en Dior, sin embargo, el diseñador belga ha conseguido algo verdaderamente difícil, casi imposible, modificar y actualizar los términos de la maison con un giro de tuerca magistral.
La nueva concepción del minimalismo y el color negro han sido los dos grandes pilares sobre los que se ha estructurado la nueva propuesta de Simons, fuertes bases que se han visto aderezadas con una de las tendencias más asentadas para las temporadas venideras, el clásico ‘black and white’, además de cómo no, los tonos empolvados que tanto recuerdan al pasado del diseñador en Jil Sander.
El new look ha vuelto a aparecer en escena gracias a las siluetas ‘ladylike’ y a la sensualidad del rojo, no obstante, Raf Simons ha querido ir más allá de la simple reinvención de los principales cánones de Dior, creando un nuevo – y mágico – concepto de costura versátil.
Y mágico fue, a su vez, el decorado de grandes burbujas-espejo gracias al cual los diseños podían ser vistos desde numerosos ángulos distintos.

Magnifique, Raf, magnifique.
Less than a year ago many people who doubted Raf Simons and his new position as creative director at Dior, nonetheless, the Belgian designer has achieved something really difficult, almost impossible, to modify and bring up to date the terms of the maison with a flawless step forward.
The new conception of minimalism and the black color have been the two big bases around which the new Simons proposal has been structured, strong pillars that have been seen embellished with one of the strongest trends for the approaching seasons, the classic ‘black and white’, which has been accompanied by pastel tones that remind me of the past of the designer at Jil Sander.
The new look has appeared in scene again thanks to the ‘ladylike’ silhouettes and the sensuality of the red, however, Raf Simons has gone beyond the simple reinvention of the main Dior canons, and has created a new – and magic – concept of versatile couture.
And magical was also, the scene, in which giant mirrored bubbles allowed all the attendees to watch the designs from numerous angles.
