Steffi’s World pretende ser no sólo un blog sobre mis looks, sino también acerca de todo aquello que pueda ser de vuestro interés y que esté relacionado con la cultura, el arte, las tendencias y la moda. Por eso, hoy, cuando sólo falta un día para la mágica noche de Halloween (All Hallows'Eve = Víspera de Todos los Santos), he decidido dedicar un post a esta fiesta, cuyo origen es celta y su cuna Irlanda. A pesar de creer que no forma parte de nuestra tradición, está documentado que, al menos, en Asturias, se celebraban banquetes en su honor. Sin embargo, la gran expansión llegó cuando los irlandeses emigraron a Norteamérica, víctimas de la hambruna que padeció su país. Lentamente, la pasión que suscita esta fiesta ha regresado al continente europeo, especialmente en Inglaterra, pero también en otros países como España.
La idea de utilizar calabazas como símbolo fue para proteger la casa de espíritus malignos. Por otra parte, la expresión con la que titulo este post: "Trick or treat", tendría como traducción más exacta "Susto o dulce", que es la actividad más deseada por los niños cuando llega esta noche y consiste en ir por las casas, pronunciar esta frase y, si los adultos les dan caramelos o dinero, significa que aceptan el "trato". En caso contrario, les gastarán una broma como puede ser arrojar huevos contra su puerta.

So today, when only one day left for the magical night of Halloween (All Hallows'Eve = Eve of All Saints), I decided to dedicate a post to this party, whose origin is Celtic and Irish birthplace. Despite believing that is not part of our tradition, it is documented that, at least, in Asturias, banquets were held in his honor. However, the great expansion came when the Irish immigrated to America, victims of their country's potato famine. Slowly, the passion that stirs this event has returned to Europe, especially in England, but also in other countries like Spain.

The idea of ​​using pumpkins as a symbol was to protect the house from evil spirits. Moreover, the expression that title this post: "Trick or treat", would have the most accurate translation "Trick or Sweet", which is the most desired by children when it is tonight and go from house to house , pronounce this sentence and, if adults give them candy or money, it means you accept the "deal". Otherwise, they would spend a joke such as throwing eggs at his door.
