3) ¿El fútbol se practica principalmente en Europa y sur de América?
En todo el mundo se juega al fútbol. Algunas cifras de interés hechas públicas recientemente por la FIFA (junio de 2007) son:  - Más del 4% de la población practica el llamado “Deporte rey”.- Hay 265 millones de jugadores de fútbol y 5 millones entre entrenadores, árbitros, asesores y directivos. De los 265 millones, 38 son futbolistas federados y el resto pertenecen al fútbol escolar, universitario, militar, empresarial, fútbol de barrio… Es decir todas las clases sociales aparecen representadas en este deporte.- Si sumáramos los jugadores aficionados, llegaríamos a cifras de 1.000 millones de practicantes que juegan fútbol de manera habitual. De los cuales, un millón corresponden a fútbol sala y fútbol playa, con lo que podemos decir que el deseo de practicar fútbol, crea nuevos escenarios, inventa nuevas superficies para su desarrollo.- En cuanto al fútbol profesional, abriendo la pregunta, se centra principalmente en la zona llamada UEFA. En Oceanía por ejemplo no existe fútbol profesional. Hay curiosamente tres países que dominan, en cuanto al número de practicantes (aunque sin embargo no sean actualmente potencias futbolísticas) y son: China con 26 millones, en segundo lugar EE.UU: con 24 millones y el tercero es India con 20 millones de practicantes, a continuación Alemania con 16, Brasil con 13, y México con 8 millones. España ocupa en este ranking el lugar 20 con 2.834.000 futbolistas- Y en el fútbol femenino las cifras han pasado de 22 millones de practicantes en el año 2000 a 26 millones el 2006.- Por último algunos datos económicos, según el estudio de Deloitte: la liga española es la tercera más rica del mundo con unos ingresos de 1.158 millones de euros en el ejercicio 2005-2006. Lidera este apartado la Liga inglesa con 2.000 millones de ingresos y unos beneficios de un 10% es decir 200 millones de euros. Italia es la segunda. De modo que la llamada Industria del Fútbol en Europa, ha crecido en el último año un 9%, alcanzando los 12.600 millones de euros de ingresos. (Continuará…)
