Etymologically: Quiniela(Football betting pools) proceeds from the Latin word "quintus" (five) and according to some of the scholars in this field: it derives from an ancient Roman game in which five players participated. And five were the games that formed the first sealed betting tickets in the Callealtera bar in Santander.(To be continued…)
