Bueno chicas! Mi último post como soltera no podía estar dedicado a un outfit, ¡no no no! va a ser un post dedicado a agradecer a todas esas personas que me hacen sentir bendecida cada día.
Here we are! I couldnt talk about an outfit on my last post as a single lady- no no no! Instead, this is a special thank you-post to all those who make me feel blessed day in and day out.
En primer lugar y como no podía ser de otra forma, al otro protagonista de mañana, Arturo, por haberse cruzado en mi camino, por haberme enseñado a ser mejor persona, por hacerme feliz (feliz!), por complementarme como lo hace y por querer compartir todo conmigo, lo bueno y lo malo. Soy muy afortunada por tener en mi vida a alguien tan incondicional <3.
Firstly, and obviously, a thank you to tomorrow's protagonist, Arturo. Aurturo, for crossing my path, for helping me become a better person, for making me happy (very happy!), for complementing me the way he does and for wanting to share everything with me, the good and the bad. I am very fortunate to have him in my life.
A mi familia ¡porque es la mejor! Desde el más viejo hasta el más joven, no somos perfectos y los sabemos pero juntos somos grandes, somos fuertes, somos felices, podemos con todo y somos justamente eso: una familia. Nunca lo digo porque no soy de demostrar sentimientos (más que nada porque si no estaría todo el día llorando) pero quiero a mis tías porque siempre han estado ahí, mi tía Mema por ser casi como otra abuela (aunque me picase con la aguja cada vez que pasaba por detrás de ella), a mi tía Noli por ver siempre con buenos ojos todo lo que hago, a mi tía Rosi por ponerle color a todo y a mi madrina por contar conmigo siempre. No me olvido de las mejores papas fritas de mi tía Maria :) A mis tíos porque nunca fallan, siempre están ahí "los compadres" dispuestos a echar un mano, y tío Tete con sus chistes repetidos que ya nos sabemos todos peor el se sigue partiendo de risa.
A thank you to my family, because they are the best! From the oldest to the youngest, we aren't perfect and we know it but together we are big, strong and happy. We can deal with everything and we are just that: a great family. I don't talk about it much as I don't like to show my feelings (because if I did, I would be crying all day) but I love my aunts for always being there. My 'tia Mema' for being like another grandma, my 'tia Noli' for her positive outlook on everything I do, my 'tia Rosi' for her optimism and fun personality and my godmother for always counting on me. And I won't forget to mention the best french fries from my 'tia Maria :-). My uncles "the compadres" for always being there, happy to help and my 'tio Tete' for his jokes that are not funny but
that crack him up.
A mis primas y primos (no los nombro porque somos más de 40), pero gracias a todos ellos, los mayores por ser como hermanos/as, los que ahora son de mi quinta por ser mis primeras/os mejores amigas/os y llenarme de lo que ahora son muy buenos recuerdos y a los más pequeños por seguir llenando de alegría esta familia.
A thank you to my cousins (who I won't list as I have more than 40); the older ones for being like brothers/sisters, those aged like me for becoming my first best friends and filling me with great memories, and the little ones for continuing to fill this family with joy.
A thank you to my 'second mum and dad' (you know who you are!) for taking care of me and teaching me as if I were their daughter as well as giving me so many fun and great memories. :-)
Y a mis amigas, a esas amigas de verdad que al final se convierten en parte de tu familia: Yoli gracias por haber estado cuando nadie más estuvo, Judi gracias por ser esa amiga "de toda la vida" literalmente, y que seguirás siendo, Iris gracias por hacer que el tiempo no pase por nuestra amistad aunque estemos meses sin vernos.
A thank you to my friends, those good friends who end up becoming family. Yoli, thank you for being there when nobody else was. Judi, thank you for being my life long friend. Iris, thank you for ensuring time doesnt fade our friendship, even when we spend months apart.
Y como no, a mi familia, la de mi casa, porque aunque no somos naaaaada cariñosos, ni melosos los unos con los otros nos queremos con todos nuestros defectos (que no son pocos) y nuestras virtudes. Me quedo con el recuerdo de cantar las canciones de Disney al final de las pelis con mi hermana (ella siempre quería ser la chica), enseñarme a pegar las pegatinas de Panini en los álbumes de Disney ( y enfadarse si me salía de los bordes), y por rebobinar los cassettes y hacerme reír pensando que cantaban los ratones de la Cenicienta, jajaja; y meterme a media noche en la cama con mi hermano, grabarme Freddy Krueger aunque luego me diera miedo verla o intentar aspirarme con la aspiradora cuando bajaba las escaleras (que miedo pasaba).
And of course, a thank you to my family (my immediate family), because although we are not at all affectionte with each other, we love eath other despite our weaknesses and strengths. Great memories with my sister include singing Disney songs (and she always had to be the girl), playing with stickers, and rewinding casette bands to make me laugh for thinking that the mice from Cinderella were singing. Great memories with my brother include getting into his bed at midnight, him recording Freddy Krueger for me (even if I was terrified to watch it) and him pretending/trying to suck me up with the vaccum cleaner (I was very scared of this!)
A thank you to my dad, for always being there and taking me places: to the fair, for walks, to buy churros, for racing me to the restaurant (and letting me win), for telling me that we were going to SnowWhite's or Cinderella's or the Sleeping Beauty's house (to then find that we were going to friends' houses and the princess was always sleeping "and could not be disturbed") and for many other great memories.
¿Creías que me había olvidado de ti? ¡MADRES! Que sería el mundo sin ellas. Gracias a mi madre por...TODO...ella era más gandula para llevarme a donde quería...,era la que esperaba en casa por los churros que nos sobraban jajaja, pero luego fue la que empezó a acompañarme de tiendas (y a todo lo demás) hasta el día de hoy. Siempre ha sido más fuerte en todo lo demás y más fuerte que nadie, pocas veces derrumbada y aguantando lo inaguantable, siempre en pie, con un genio que en parte creo que he heredado, pero que me ha enseñado la mayor parte de lo que sé, me ha enseñado a ser fuerte también, a tener personalidad, a no dejar que nadie me pisotee, a ser humilde, a sacrificarme, quererme como soy, ha dejado que me equivoque, que tome mis decisiones y me ha enseñado a madurar, a darle importancia sólo a las cosas que merecen ser importantes, probablemente un hijo nunca sea capaz de agradecer cuando han hecho sus padres por él, yo soy capaz de reconocer cuanto has hecho por mí y se que nunca podré devolverte ese favor, así que aunque no te lo diga nunca GRACIAS por todo lo que has hecho siempre por mi (y te quiero, algo que nunca te he dicho)
Did you think I had forgotten about you? MOTHERS! What would we do without them? A thank you to my mum for... EVERYTHING...She was lazier to take me places, and would wait at home for the left over churros hahah. But she later started taking me shopping (and everything else) until this day. She has always been so strong, stronger than anyone else I know, enduring the unbearable, always on the go, and with a temper (that I think I have inherited) that has shown me to be strong, to have my own personality, to be humble, to work hard and to love myself for who I am. She has allowed me to make my own decisions and make mistakes, helping me develop as a person and to only focus on the important things. I thank you for everything you have done for me and I love you (something I've never said to you before).
Y por último, pero no menos importante a todas las que ahora no son mi familia biológica pero estáis leyendo esto como si yo fuera parte de la vuestra. Tengo las mejores lectoras del mundo y lo sé, gracias por vuestros innumerables comentarios siempre llenos de cariño, por vuestros e mails haciéndome saber cuanto me apreciáis y haciéndome sentir parte de vuestras vidas. Gracias por estar aquí día tras día y compartir conmigo todo lo bueno. Me siento muy, muy, muy afortunada.
And lastly, a thank you to all of you who are not part of my biological family but who are reading this as if I were part of yours. I have the best readers in the whole wide world and I know it for a fact! Thank you for all your comments and emails letting me know how much you enjoy my posts and making me feel part of your lives. Thank you for being there day after day; I feel very very blessed.
