Por lo general, existe un equipo o empresa (como ACW Worldwide) que son los encargados de seleccionarlas. Este equipo es contratado por la organización encargada del evento, o por los propios diseñadores. Aunque en cada país varia un poco el sistema; en Madrid es la organización, en Nueva York son los diseñadores, en el fondo termina siendo el mismo. / Usually, there is a team or enterprise (such as ACW Worldwide) that are in charge of it. This team is hired by the organization that run the event, or by the designers. Un gran grupo de modelos viaja a la ciudad en cuestión, para pasar el casting. A ellas les informa un bookers (que, por lo genreal, son las agencias de modelos, como Next, IMG, Ford, etc); que por decirlo de algún modo, hace el papel de su agente y representante, de donde tienen que ir ha hacer el casting, y demás. / A big among of models travel to the right city, to attend to the casting. Por lo general, cuando se anuncia el casting, se emite un anuncio que ademas de decir el lugar, dia, y hora, especifica los requisitos para poder pasarlo. Vamos, como una oferta de trabajo, por decirlo de algún modo. / In general, when a casting is announcing, is issued a note that tells the place, day and time, and tells all the requirement. Los requisitos: / The requirement.

- Asistir con la cara lavada./ No make up on.

Es necesario que acudan con la cara lavada para que los seleccionadores puedan hacerse una idea de como es la modelo y sus atributos. / It’s needed that the models arrive with no make up on, so the casting team will get an idea of how the models really are and their attributes.

- Ropa sencilla. / Simple outfit.

Sencilla, y ella misma, eso es lo que quieren ver los seleccionadores. Necesitan hacerse una idea de como es la modelo, si se disfraza es prácticamente imposible. / Simple and herself, that is what the selecting people has to be. They need to get an idea of how is the model, if she disguises or dress up is almost impossible.

Altuzarra casting - Desfilar con tacones como nadie. / Catwalks with heels as anybody.

Estamos acostumbrados a ver a las modelos corriendo de un sitio a otro, y siempre con calzado plano. Sin embargo, un requisito fundamental en el casting, es que sepan andar con tacones, por eso suelen llevarlos aparte en una bolsita o en el bolso, y se cambian cuando llegan. Imagínate si las modelos no supieran llevar los tacones como nadie, que hubiera parado en los desfiles de Alexander McQueen? / We are use to see models running from one place to another, and always with flat footwear. However, is essential that at the casting, are needed to show they are teachers when it comes to walk with heels, therefore they carried them on another bag or purse, and they change when arrive. Imagine if models would not know how to walk with heels, what would have happens at Alexander McQueen catwalks?

El proceso paso a paso. / The process step by step. - Esperar su turno. / Waiting for their turn.

A veces son horas y horas, pero ellas saben que es lo que toca, y esperan pacientes charlando con otras modelos o enfrascadas en sus smartphones. / Sometimes they have to wait for hours, but they now what they are up to, and wait patiently talking to each other, or get lost into their smartphones.

A parte de sus tarjetas de presentacion y books, les hacen una foto de cara, para identificarlas. Todos los modelos deben similar que caminan por la pasarela, para ello es montado un circuito que la simula. Si te fijas en cada desfile el paso de las modelos es distinto. De echo París tiene fama de ser un paso lento y fluido, y Nueva York un paso mas rápido. Por no hablar de los desfiles de Sonia Ryken. / All the models must simulate they catwalk on a runway, for there is set a circuit that simulate it. If you take a look of every catwalk, the step of the models change. In fact Paris, is known for a slow and fluid walk, while New York is more faster.

Prada SS 2010 Cuando terminan de hacer el casting, las modelos se van, seguramente a pasar por otro no muy lejos de allí, o a unas cuantas horas de vuelo. Pero con la ilusión de que igual, o con un poco de suerte, serán las próximas en mostrar las colecciones de Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang, Zac Posen, Chanel o Isabel Marant. / When the models finish the casting they usually rush to another not too far away, or withing few flight heures. But with the hope that, with luck, they will be next to show the collections of Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang, Zac Posen, Chanel o Isabel Marant.
