“Welcome to the Show” es mucho más que la continuación de su magnífico debut “The Album”, es un disco redondo donde vas a encontrar 10 temas a cada cual más poderoso, divertido y rockanrolero, que ha explorado, sin dejar ninguna, todas las ramas del R’n’R más clásico, desde los Stones, Faces o Cheap Trick a los AC/DC.
Los suecos son el espectáculo personificado, y es que cualquiera de sus temas puede pasar por la banda sonora ideal para un sábado noche, y es si con su anterior disco consiguieron sorprendernos a todos, con este no hacen más que confirmar que no son un proyecto pasajero, sino unos chicos que vienen a quedarse y por mucho tiempo, pasando por encima de nosotros como una avalancha que bucea por la historia del R’n’R, rescatando lo mejor de cada época.
Abre el disco la Stoniana “Hello!, Hello!, Hello!”, toda una declaración de principios que hace algo grande de lo simple, para transformarse en los mejores The Four Horsemen en “(Meet Me) On the Rocks”, o mutarse en esos barbudos sureños en “Lady Pink”, con mucho Groove y Funk en el tema. Un repaso por la historia en 10 grandísimos temas que confeccionan uno de los mejores discos del 2010, y en el que la variedad es lo que predomina, teniendo sitio incluso para una gran balada o un tema acústico. Hay que estar hecho de piedra para no sentir la corriente de alta tensión que recorre cual línea roja la totalidad del disco.
Pensaba que no serian capaces de pillarme con la guardia baja con su segundo disco, puesto que sabía de lo que eran capaces, pero he de reconocer que no esperaba un derroche tan grande de contrastes y, al final, el golpe en la mandíbula me ha tumbado. Y yo que pensaba que con la edad sería más precavido…..
Señoras y señores, que no les pase como a mi, porque yo al menos tengo a bien avisarles, estos tíos no vienen a cambiar la historia del R’n’R, pero si a formar parte de ella, y es que está visto que el corazón de estos chicos late cada vez con más fuerza.

Timeless. There’s no other word better describing the music coming from this Swedish four-piece. Having grown up on bearded swamp blues (ZZ TOP, LYNYRD SKYNYRD), glam flamboyance (KISS, DAVID BOWIE, ALICE COOPER, T-REX) and menace riffing (AC/DC, DEEP PURPLE, TED NUGENT) there’s not a doubt in the world that CHILLIHOUNDS learned the swagger of rock’n’roll in the best of ways. Forming in Gothenburg in 2003 the band take its time perfecting their retrospective groove seldom heard this side of the seventies. In 2005 all the pieces of the puzzle seem to match as CHILLIHOUNDS records the demo “No Fashion, Just Rock’n’Roll”. The recording includes highlights such as “1975” and “Dancing Devils” and earns the band – along with their sweat drenched performances – a reputation among independent labels. Italian company Nicotine Records releases “The Album” in April of 2007. It is a ten track onslaught of furious licks and unforgettable melodies. A mere four months later the first pressing is sold out, much thanks to the overwhelming critical acclaim “The Album” receives from press around the world. Sweden Rock Magazine awards “The Album” 9 out of 10 points – “If there’s any justice in the world, CHILLIHOUNDS ought to be an international hit”. Webzine Agony Zone states: “CHILLIHOUNDS performs as if their life depends upon it”. German magazine OX gives “The Album” 7 out of 10 – “Finally a singer who can sing, instead of sounding just like a V8 engine”. And so on. At the moment the group is writing material for their forthcoming album “Vol. II – Welcome to the Show”. Some tracks are already recorded and has been performed to great praise. CHILLIHOUNDS makes no bones about their burning love for energetic classic hard rock and is now often compared to similar act CLUTCH.
