¡Muy buenos días a todos! Hoy os traigo una reseña en la que llevo varias semanas trabajando, y es la de la colección No Filter de Colourpop Cosmetics. La colección, que nace dentro de la gama de productos que comenzó su famoso corrector hace un año, incluye una base, polvos para sellar, y polvos compactos. Lo más impactante (aunque no debería serlo a día de hoy) es que tienen una amplia variedad de tonos y a un precio increíble, como siempre. Pero, ¿vale la pena?
Good morning everyone! After some weeks testing it, today I’m finally going to be reviewing Colourpop Cosmetics’ No Filter collection. This collection was created following the release of their infamous concealer one year later, and it includes foundation, setting powders, and compact powders. The thing that struck the most about it (although it should be a common thing by now) is that they have a broad variety of tones and incredible prices, as always. But, is it worth it?
NO FILTER NATURAL MATTE FOUNDATION

¿Mate, acabado natural, y sin aceites? Mi piel grasa habría dado saltos de alegría al escuchar eso. Si pudiera. Pero si os soy sincera, al probar la base por primera vez, quedé bastante decepcionada… y no fue a mejor.
Esta base tiene una textura muy líquida y está formulada sin aceites, como bien indica su descripción. Para una base que indirectamente implica que no nos llenará de brillos antes de que pongamos un pie en la calle, eso es exactamente lo que hace. Tarda más de lo normal en secarse, aunque no sea un gran problema, y durante el día es imprescindible hacer pequeños retoques de vez en cuando para no acabar como una bola de discoteca.
Por mucho que la selles, al cabo de unas 6-7 horas siempre desaparece en lugares clave como la nariz y remarca las líneas de expresión, sobre todo las de la zona de la comisura de los labios. He probado varios diversos primers y polvos, y siempre acaba igual. Otra cosa que no me ha gustado es el packaging: me gustaría que viniera con un tapón y que no se escapara tanto líquido por el dispensador.
Lo positivo de la base es que el acabado es muy bonito y queda muy bien durante las primeras horas, y es muy fácil de retocar. Además, tiene una cobertura media con la primera capa, pero alta con la segunda, manteniendo la ligereza.

Matte, natural finish, and no oils? My oily skin would’ve jumped of joy when it heard that. If it could. But when I tried it for the first time, I was a bit disappointed, to be honest… and it didn’t get any better.
This foundation has a very liquid texture and no oils, as its description points out. For a base that indirectly suggests that it won’t make us look oily as soon as we step one foot on the street, that’s exactly what it does. It takes longer than most matte foundations to dry up, but I wouldn’t consider that a big problem. That being said, it’s essential to touch up during the day if we don’t want to end up looking like a disco ball.
No matter how much you set it, after about 6-7 hours the foundation always banishes in key places like the nose and creases, especially in the smile lines. I’ve tried several different primers and powders, and I haven’t managed to solve that. Another thing that I didn’t like was the packaging: I would’ve preferred if it came with a cap and that they had created the dispenser so not so much liquid would leak through it.
The positive points of the foundation are that the finish is very beautiful and that it looks very good during the first hours, and it is very easy to touch up. In addition, it has medium coverage with the first layer, but it can be built up to full coverage with the second, maintaining the lightweight feel of the first one.
¿La recomiendo?
Sinceramente, no sabría qué decir. Creo que funcionaría mejor en pieles mixtas que, a diferencia de la mía, no tienen tendencia a ser grasas. Además, el precio está bastante bien y el rango de tonos es muy extenso. Personalmente, prefiero otras bases como la HD Liquid Camouflage de Catrice, que es más barata y fácil de conseguir en España, y tiene un efecto muy parecido.
Do I recommend it?
To be fair, I’m not sure if I would. I think it would work better in combination skins that, unlike mine, don’t have the tendency to be oily. I feel like the price is pretty good and the shade range is very extensive, which is a great thing. Personally, I prefer different foundations such as Catrice Cosmetics‘ HD Liquid Camouflage, which is both cheaper and easier to get here in Europe, plus it has a very similar effect.

Siempre he escuchado opiniones muy variadas sobre este producto, así que no sabía qué esperar. Promete una cobertura alta y un acabado mate, lo cual es verdad. Por otro lado, se oxida bastante (el color se oscurece en pocos segundos) y remarca un poco las arrugas por lo seco que es.

I’ve always heard very mixed reviews on this product, so I didn’t know what to expect. It does give high coverage and a matte finish, but on the other hand, it oxidizes a lot (the color gets darker within seconds) and creases a bit because of how dry it is.
¿Lo recomiendo?
Sí, pero no a personas con la zona del ojo muy seca. Nunca me libro de que los correctores resequen la zona de la ojera (tengo que sellarlos siempre con polvos, ya que si no, independientemente de cuál sea el tipo, la marca o el precio del corrector, se llenará de pliegues), así que para el precio que tiene no me parece malo. Eso sí, es necesario hidratar la zona de la ojera antes de usarlo.
Do I recommend it?
Yes, but not to people with a very dry eye area. I’ve never found a concealer that doesn’t dry mine up because I have to set it with powder whether I like to or not; doesn’t matter the type, brand or price of the concealer, it will crease on me if I don’t. For the price, it doesn’t seem like a bad deal to me. The only con is that it’s quite necessary to moisturize the eye area before applying it.
NO FILTER SHEER MATTE PRESSED POWDER

Cuando dicen que estos polvos son finos, lo dicen muy en serio: apenas se notan. Eso es bueno y malo, ya que si lo que buscas son polvos que sustituyan la base para un look más natural pero que esconda las imperfecciones, no serán de mucha ayuda. Si lo que buscas es retocar brillos durante el día, son perfectos; matifican la piel y no se hacen pesados.

When they say that this powder is very sheer, they mean it: it’s hardly noticeable on the skin. That’s a good thing and bad thing, because if you’re looking for a powder that substitutes your foundation to get a more natural look but you also want it to hide imperfections, it won’t be of much help. If you’re looking for a powder to take on-the-go to touch up during the day, they’re perfect; they mattify the skin without getting too heavy.

Sí. Son muy ligeros y cómodos de llevar y aguantan bastante bien. Eso sí, teniendo en cuenta el precio del producto y el envío, tampoco creo que sean tan especiales.
Do I recommend them?
Yes. They’re very light and comfortable to wear throughout the day and hold up pretty well. But, taking into account the price of the product and the shipping, I don’t think they’re that special either.
NO FILTER LOOSE SETTING POWDER

Estos polvos dejan la piel muy suave y sellan la base para que el maquillaje no se mueva durante horas. Iluminan un poco la zona, pero sin causar flashback, y tampoco son pesados.

This setting powder leaves the skin looking and feeling very soft, and it also sets the foundation so that it doesn’t move for hours. They also illuminate the area a little without causing any flashback, and they are very lightweight.

¡Sí, definitivamente! Creo que son de lo mejor de esta colección. Me están gustando mucho.

Yes, definitely! I think they’re one of the best products from this collection. I’m really enjoying them.

En la imagen de arriba utilicé todos los productos de la colección. El único problema que tuve es que la base no aguantó casi nada en la nariz, y quedaba un poco raro. El resto creo que quedó bastante bien, y la base cubrió muy bien los granos que tenía, que no eran pocos.
In the image above, I was using all the products from the collection. The only problem I had was with the foundation because it didn’t sit evenly in the nose and it looked weird. The rest of the products looked pretty good, and the foundation covered very nicely the pimples I had, and there were many of them.
En general, creo que esta colección es bastante buena. He visto productos mejores a precios más bajos, pero también he visto peores a precios más altos. Sin duda, sé que no sentiría lo mismo si hubiese pagado el precio del envío (10$), que echaría a perder el atractivo de comprar productos lowcost de calidad, pero, por suerte, compartí el pedido con dos amigas para que pasara los 50 dólares. También siento que a lo mejor tenía las expectativas demasiado altas con esta colección y, debido a eso, esperaba más (especialmente de la base), porque realmente es una buena colección de productos para el rostro, y soy consciente de que la mayoría de las cosas negativas eso me pasó a mí debido a mis problemas particulares de la piel.
All in all, I feel like this collection was pretty good. I’ve seen better at lower prices but I’ve also seen worse at higher prices. I don’t think I would feel the same way about it if I had to pay shipping; because international shipping costs around $10, I made the order with two friends so it would be more than $50. I also feel like maybe I was a bit overhyped about this collection and, because of that, I expected more (especially from the foundation), because it really is a good face complexion collection, and I’m aware that most of the negative things that happened to me are due to my particular skin issues.
