Cuba-EE.UU: anuncian primera reunión de Comisión Bilateral

La primera reunión de la Comisión Bilateral Cuba-Estados Unidos tendrá lugar en La Habana el 11 de septiembre, informó la Cancillería cubana.
En esta cita, se definirán la agenda de temas que serán abordados en la fase iniciada tras el restablecimiento de las relaciones diplomáticas entre Cuba y Estados Unidos.
Según la nota oficial, la delegación cubana estará presidida por la directora general de Estados Unidos de la Cancillería, Josefina Vidal, mientras que la norteamericana estará encabezada por el subsecretario adjunto para los Asuntos del Hemisferio Occidental del Departamento de Estado, Edward Alex Lee.
La Comisión Bilateral -cuya creación fue anunciada por el canciller cubano, Bruno Rodríguez, y el secretario de Estado norteamericano, John Kerry, durante la visita de este último a La Habana el 14 de agosto- discutirá acerca de las nuevas áreas de cooperación de beneficio para los dos países.
Esa instancia también tratará temas como el diálogo sobre asuntos bilaterales y multilaterales, incluyendo aquellos en los que existen diferentes concepciones, y las cuestiones pendientes de solución entre La Habana y Washington.

The first meeting of the Cuba-US Steering Committee will take place in the Cuban capital on Friday, September 11. The establishment of this Committee was announced by Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba; and John Kerry, US Secretary of State, during the latter’s visit to Havana on August 14 last.
In this meeting, the delegations from both countries, which will be presided over by Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, Director General of the US Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba; and Edward Alex Lee, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, will define the agenda that will be discussed during the stage initiated after the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States.
The Steering Committee will examine the new areas of cooperation for the benefit of both countries; the dialogue on bilateral and multilateral issues, including those on which both countries have different views; as well as the pending issues between Cuba and the United States. (CubaMinrex)
