We are dedicating today’s post to all those sons and daughters who are rushing off to find a present because today is Mother’s day in Spain… If you have got a piece of paper and a brochette skewer you won’t arrive empty-handed to you mom’s house today. Because moms will also thank you for a little detail, we will make an origami lily. Instructions have been taken from U-Handbag.
1. Recorta un cuadrado de papel de colores y dóblalo por las diagonales.
1. Cut out a square from a piece of coloured paper and fold it diagonally.
2. Dobla los dos extremos hacia dentro creando un triángulo como el que se ve en la figura.
2. Fold two opposite sides inwards and make a triangle as seen on the upper picture.
3. Abre los picos y dóblalos tal y como se ve en la imagen. Repite la misma operación en los cuatro extremos.
3. Open the edges and fold them as seen on the picture. Repeat the same operation with the four edges.
4. Por la parte abierta, dobla hacia dentro tal y como se ve en la imagen y dobla el triángulo resultante hacia arriba.
4. On the opened side, fold inwards as seen on the picture and fold the resultant triangle upwards.
5. Abre por la parte en la que no hay dobles y dobla hacia dentro por el extremo contrario al que estábamos trabajando.
5. Open by the non-folded side and fold inwards by the opposite side to that we were working with.
6. Para terminar enrolla los pétalos para darles forma y coloca la flor en un palito de brocheta. Solo falta añadir una etiqueta con la dedicatoria y ya tenéis vuestro detalle “handmade” para mamá.
6. To end it up, roll the petals to give them shape and place the flower on top of a brochette skewer. You just have to attach a tag with your message and your handmade gift for your mom is ready.
