As a former athlete, I enjoy the Olympic Games very much because they make me remember the hard training we had to undergo in order to achieve our goals. This memory and the feelings associated to it have helped me to get through many important challenges with courage and enthusiasm in my daily work as an Architect. “Fellow walker there is no road; the road is made by walking” (Antonio Machado).
On the other hand, some people make me laugh when they ask architects about every detail about the Olympic buildings as if we were an open encyclopedia for architectural knowledge. It is true that we know a lot about space, structure, history and materials. However, most of the time, we cannot master every field of our profession. For that reason, today we want to share a summary with all of you of the most important buildings that you are going to see in these London 2012 Olympic Games.
