Cerca del pueblo de Banff está el Lake Minewanka, un lago artificial de unos 22 km de largo alrededor del cual hay bastantes recorridos tanto para caminantes como para ciclistas.
Nosotros ya habíamos estado por la zona un par de veces porque las posibilidades de ver fauna son muy grandes en esta zona, al estar muy apartada de la carretera principal que atraviesa Banff.
Decidimos hacer el recorrido que rodea el lago por el norte, siempre manteniéndonos cerca de la orilla, que resultó ser perfecto para nuestro nivel de domingueros.
El hielo que cubría la superficie del lago estaba ya casi completamente fundido y el día no era ventoso así que tuvimos unas vistas muy bonitas durante todo el tiempo que estuvimos por allí de parranda.
El día que estuvimos rodando por el Lake Minewanka era justamente nuestro octavo aniversario así que, ya de vuelta a casa, paramos a cenar en lo que se ha convertido en nuestro restaurante favorito: el mirador de la Storm Mountain en la carretera 1-A que une Banff con Lake Louise.

Near the town of Banff there’s an artificial lake called Minewanka. It’s about 22 km long and there’re several walking and cycling trails around it.
We’ve been there a few times trying to sight fauna. The area is far enough from the Transcanadian highway and therefore a better place for animals to thrive. We’ve never had much luck, though.
We chose a route around the lake that wasn’t to difficult for our beginners level.
The ice was mostly gone from the surface of the lake and there was hardly any wind that say. Then, the views were spectacular all the time we were riding.
That particular day was also our eighth anniversary so after the ride and on our way home we had dinner in what we call our favourite restaurant: the Storm Mountain Lookout, after Castle Junction in the 1A than links Banff and Lake Louise. Enrique & Marina
