Tras más de diez años desde el lanzamiento de su demoledor debut, «Excruciating Intestinal Lacerations» (2012), la formación británica Engorgement anuncia su regreso oficial con un segundo tomo de brutalidad titulado «They Rot Beneath Our Floor».
El álbum, que será lanzado el próximo 20 de marzo de 2026 a través del sello referente en el género, Comatose Music, promete consolidar la reputación de la banda como una de las entidades más viscerales de la escena extrema del Reino Unido.
«They Rot Beneath Our Floor» se estructura como una narrativa de horror sonoro, enmarcada por la inquietante atmósfera de «Prelude To Your Dismemberment» y un cierre contundente con «Outro». Entre ambos puntos, la banda despliega un asalto de voces guturales cáusticas, riffs de proporciones colosales y una percusión diseñada para el castigo físico.
Para alcanzar el nivel de potencia y nitidez que el material requería, Engorgement confió la mezcla y masterización a Floor Van Kuijk (Korpse, Sijjeel), quien trabajó el disco en sus GLDCHN Studios. More than ten years after the release of their crushing debut, «Excruciating Intestinal Lacerations» (2012), the British formation Engorgement announces their official return with a second tome of brutality titled «They Rot Beneath Our Floor».
The album, which will be released on March 20, 2026, through the genre’s leading label, Comatose Music, promises to consolidate the band’s reputation as one of the most visceral entities in the UK extreme scene.
«They Rot Beneath Our Floor» is structured as a sonic horror narrative, framed by the unsettling atmosphere of «Prelude To Your Dismemberment» and a forceful closing with «Outro». Between these two points, the band deploys an assault of caustic guttural vocals, riffs of colossal proportions, and percussion designed for physical punishment.
To achieve the level of power and clarity the material required, Engorgement entrusted the mixing and mastering to Floor Van Kuijk (Korpse, Sijjeel), who worked on the record at his GLDCHN Studios. The result is a production that preserves the necessary rawness of the genre but with a modern, intimidating, and dangerous impact.
With this release, Comatose Music reaffirms its commitment to the most uncompromising extreme metal, setting the stage for what is expected to be one of the most anticipated sonic carnages of the year.
