¡Buenos días a todos! Hace unos meses, Makeup Revolution nos sorprendió con su maravilla de corrector líquido Conceal & Define (reseña aquí), el cual ha arrasado por ser bastante barato, tener una gama de tonos muy inclusiva, y su excelente calidad. Hoy voy a poner a prueba uno de los nuevos productos de la marca, la Fast Base Stick Foundation.
Good morning everyone! A few months ago, Makeup Revolution shocked all of us with its hyped Conceal & Define (review here) liquid concealer, which awed almost everyone for being quite inexpensive, having a very inclusive range of shades, and its excellent quality. Today I am going to test one of their last releases, the Fast Base Stick Foundation.

Esta base tiene un formato en barra, como su nombre indica, y se puede utilizar también para contornear e iluminar (este tipo de productos son mis preferidos para eso). Es especialmente rápida de aplicar y, según la descripción del producto, tiene un acabado fresco y jugoso, por lo que desde el primer momento queda claro que no está dirigida para pieles grasas (como el resto de bases en crema). El diseño es muy bonito, es de color nude mate con detalles rose gold.
This base is a cream stick, which means that it can also be used for contour and highlight (this type of product is my favorite for that). It is quite easy and quick to apply and, according to the description of the product, it has a fresh and juicy finish (unfortunately for oily skin). The design is very beautiful, it has a nude matte color as a base and rose gold details.
- La cobertura es media-alta, por lo que no hace falta utilizar mucho producto para cubrir todo el rostro. Neutraliza e iguala el tono de la piel, pero le cuesta cubrir los granos.
- Rango de tonos (18) relativamente amplio (sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que es una marca lowcost).
- Es muy cremosa y se aplica fácilmente y sin esfuerzo.
- Deja la tez muy luminosa, pero personalmente, no me gusta el acabado en mí.
- Hay que tener mucho cuidado con tocarla antes de sellarla, ya que se transfiere muy fácilmente y nos la llevaremos por delante. Al sellarla, queda un acabado muy poco natural.
- Remarca las lineas de expresión y se acumula en ellas.
- Se hace bastante pesada, no como las bases líquidas, con las que (habitualmente) parece que no lleves nada.
- The coverage is medium to high and you don’t need to use a lot of product to cover the entire face. It neutralizes and evens the skin tone, but it cannot cover pimples.
- The shade range (18) is relatively wide (especially considering that we’re talking about a low-cost brand).
- It is very creamy and it applies easily and effortlessly.
- It gives a very luminous effect, but if I’m honest, I don’t like the finish.
- You have to be very careful not to touch it before setting it because it transfers very easily. Problem is, when you set it, the finish is very unnatural and cakey.
- It accentuates the smile lines and it sits on them.
- It feels very heavy, unlike liquid foundations.
La he probado con distintos primers (para controlar la grasa y para controlar ese mismo tipo de piel), con distintos polvos (compactos o sueltos) y con distintas herramientas (brochas o esponjas).
He encontrado que la mejor forma de hacer que la base funcione es con primers como el Studio Pro Foundation Primer, que minimiza la apariencia de los poros y suaviza la tez. En cuanto a la forma de aplicación, he notado que las esponjas mojadas sobre-hidratan la zona, por lo que yo prefiero utilizar una brocha y repasar con una esponja (no es necesario que esté mojada) para que quede más natural. Ambos tipos de polvos funcionan bien para controlar la grasa, pero prefiero los polvos sueltos porque sellan mejor la base, aunque queda muy poco natural.
I’ve tried this foundation with different primers (to control the oiliness and to control that same skin type), different powders (compact and loose) and different tools (brushes or sponges).
I’ve found that the best way to make the base work is with primers like the Studio Pro Foundation Primer, which minimizes the appearance of pores and smoothes the face. As for the way of application, I’ve noticed that wet sponges over-hydrate the area, so I prefer to use a flat brush and then dab it with a sponge (not necessary damp though) to make it look more natural. Both types of powders work well in order to mattify it, but I prefer loose powders because they seal the base better, although it looks very unnatural.
Test de Duración | Wear test
Con el paso de las horas, la piel se vuelve más grasa y hay ciertas zonas donde la base se desvanece especialmente rápido, como la de la nariz. Camufla los granitos relativamente bien durante una hora o dos, pero no se le puede pedir mucho más.
As the hours go by, my skin becomes more oily and there are certain areas where the foundation fades especially quick, such as the nose. It camouflages the pimples relatively well for an hour or two, but nothing more.
Conclusión
Esta base no me ha gustado nada, y creo que las fotos del test de duración hablan por sí solas. Solo se ve bien desde lejos, ya que desde cerca queda o muy grasa o, si la sellas, muy polvorienta y pesada. Reconozco que esto tiene mucho que ver con mi tipo de piel, ya que las bases en crema están dirigidas a gente con piel seca porque hidratan más. Además, prefiero los acabados mate, y esta base queda muy pesada y poco natural cuando la sellas para que quede mate. Me interesa muchísimo probar un tono oscuro para el contorno, ya que se en esa zona aguanta bien y, como ya he dicho, se difumina muy bien.
I didn’t like this foundation at all, and I think the photos of the wear test speak for themselves. It only looks good from afar: from close, it either looks very oily or, if it’s set, very cakey and heavy. I’ll admit that this has a lot to do with my skin type, since cream bases are aimed at people with dry skin because they hydrate more. In addition, I prefer matte finishes, and I can’t stress enough how unnatural this base looks when you set it in order to make it matte. That being said, I’m very interested in trying out a dark shade and use it as contour; the product holds up well in that area and, as I said before, it blends very nicely.
