Finalists of Atlantic City Boardwalk Holocaust Memorial.

Earlier this summer (2010), the jury of the Atlantic City Boardwalk Holocaust Memorial open design competition selected 13 finalists resulting from 715 stage one entries. The international competition seeks to stimulate fresh thinking about public memorials. The proposed memorial will be located at a prominent public site, an existing seaside pavilion on the world famous Atlantic City Boardwalk, against the magnificent backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Each year, approximately 35 million visitors walk on the Boardwalk and at least 10 million pass directly by the selected site.

The jury, comprising Daniel Liebeskind, Richard Meier, Michael Berenbaum, Wendy Evans Joseph, Clifford Chanin and James E. Young, is scheduled to announce the final winner of stage two in November.
