Las flores logran su propio florecimiento y es un milagro.
Los hombres no logran su propia hombría, ay, ay de ellos!
Lo único que quiero de ustedes, hombres y mujeres,
Lo único que quiero de ustedes
Es que puedan lograr su belleza
Como lo hacen las flores.
Oh dejen de decir que quiero que sean salvajes.
Díganme, ¿es acaso salvaje la genciana, en el tope de su tallo áspero?
Oh ¿qué en ustedes puede responder ante estos azules?
…como la genciana y el narciso…
¡Díganme! ¡díganme! ¿existe en ustedes una belleza que pueda compararse
Con la madreselva en este instante de la noche
Ofrendando su aliento?

Flowers achieve their own floweriness and it is a miracle.
Men don’t achieve their own manhood, alas! oh alas! alas!
