Haute couture paris ss14

Tras lo visto esta semana en París me atrevo a decir que la Alta Costura, salvo algunas excepciones, nunca ha estado más de capa caída. Hoy voy a ser más mordaz de lo que acostumbro y de paso vamos a darle un repaso a las colecciones que se han presentado para la próxima Primavera/Verano 2014. 
After seeing this week in Paris, I dare to say that Haute Couture, with some exceptions, has never been in the doldrums like now. Today I'll be more scathing than usual and I'll bring you an overview of the Haute Couture SS14 collections. 
ATELIER VERSACEGrace Jones es la inspiración de Donatella Versace para su línea de costura Atelier Versace. Un estilo excesivo y puramente Versace marcado por vestidos fluídos pegados al cuerpo y por el bling-bling para mujeres poderosas y sexys. Lady Gaga, como actual imagen de la firma puso la banda sonora y su asistencia a un desfile nada comedido y discreto.
Grace Jones is the inspiration of Donatella Versace for the Atelier Versace couture line. Excessive and purely Versace style marked by tight and fluid dresses and bling-bling for powerful and sexy women. Lady Gaga, as a current face of the brand took the soundtrack and her attendance to nothing demurely and discreet show. SCHIAPARELLIHabía mucha expectación en torno al desfile de Schiaparelli por Marco Zanini, pero en eso se ha quedado. No se qué manía hay en resucitar marcas que llevan años muertas y que sin duda deberían seguir estándolo porque el resultado no es mejor que una micra de la parte del legado de Elsa Schiaparelli. 
There was a buzz around the Schiaparelli Haute Couture collection by Marco Zanini but that has been it. I don't know why people in the industry pretend reviving dead brands but the result is no better than a micron part of the Elsa Schiaparelli legacy. 
CHRISTIAN DIORRaf Simons, el womenswear no es lo tuyo.  Dior anda sin rumbo con un Raf Simons desmotivado. Si no, no se entiende este desfile en el que las proporciones no sientan bien ni a las modelos. Adoro el trabajo de Raf Simons pero sinceramente, esta colección es un gran NO. 
Raf Simons, womenswear is not your bussines. Dior is lost with an unmotivated Raf Simons. If not, it's unexplainable this collection in which the clothes don't fit well at models. I adore Raf Simons work but honestly, this collection is a big NO. CHANELQuerdio Karl, has querido innovar y ser moderno con una idea que llevamos viendo hace 4 temporadas. Vale que la fiebre sportswear lo ha invadido todo pero ¿era necesario incorporarlo a un desfile de Alta Costura? Pues sí, porque dado que las colecciones de alta costura son lo más deficitario que hay en la moda, al menos esas sneakers se van a vender como churros. Una vez más Karl Lagerfeld demuestra que a listo no le gana nadie. 
Dear Karl, you wanted to innovate and be avant-garde with an idea we have been seeing for the last 4 seasons. Sportswear fever has invaded everything but, There's necessary to include it in a Haute Couture collection? Yes, given that Haute Couture collections are the most deficit that exist in fashion, at least these sneakers will be sell like hotcakes. Karl Lagerfeld once agein proves his commercial intelligence. MAISON MARTIN MARGIELALas colecciones de Alta Costura de Maison Martin Margiela son una muestra en la que la Alta Costura alcanza un estatus de un arte más. Como una obra de arte, deseas tenerla y coleccionarla para tenerla expuesta en tu casa. La firma dentro del conglomerado Diesel, con su colección de Alta Costura, deja ver un atisbo de lo que la marca fue. Surrealismo en estado puro. 

Maison Martin Margiela Haute Couture collections are a prove that Haute Couture is an art. As an art piece, you want to own it and collect it for expose it at your home. The brand as part of Diesel corp., with its Haute Couture collection, show a glimpse of the brand legacy. Pure surrealism. ELIE SAABPodría ver cientos y cientos de desfiles de Alta Costura de Elie Saab viendo lo mismo pero sin aburrirme. Y es que sabes lo que vas a ver en un desfile antes de que de comienzo. Un sin fin de vestidos maravillosos listos para la alfombra roja. 
I could see hundreds and handres of Elie Saab Haute Couture shows seeing always the same thing but not getting bored of it. Do you know what you will see in a Elie Saab Couture show before the start: endless wonderful dresses ready-to-red carpet. 

VALENTINOAhora mismo, Valentino es el TOP indiscutible de la Alta Costura. Pierpaolo Piccioli y Mariagrazia Chiuri se han consolidado como la pareja de diseñadores que mejor ejecutan las colecciones de costura del momento, siguiendo una misma línea desde el principio pero viendo cosas nuevas, que eso es precisamente lo que se busca en estas colecciones: fidelizar a las clientas. 
Right now, Valentino is the clear TOP maison of Haute Couture. Pierpaolo Piccioli y Mariagrazia Chiuri have established themselves as the best team of designers showing collections in the Paris Haute Couture fashion week, maintaining the same line from the beginning but showing new things. That's precisely what is sought in these collections: loyalty clients.
