WikiLeaks ha quedado fuera de alcance de los buscadores (Google, Yahoo, etc.) porque se ha quedado sin servidores DNS. Pero se encuentra poniendo en esos mismos buscadores las direcciones numéricas http://46.59.1.2/, http://88.80.13.160/ y http://213.251.145.96/

Ayer lo decía Ryan Gallagher (Wikileaks: the truth is not treason):

At approximately 6pm on Wednesday, Amazon ousted wikileaks.org from its servers after concerted and aggressive political pressure from America’s Homeland Security Committee.

Daniel Ellsberg pide boicotear Amazon:

I’m disgusted by Amazon’s cowardice and servility in abruptly terminating today its hosting of the Wikileaks website, in the face of threats from Senator Joe Lieberman and other Congressional right-wingers. I want no further association with any company that encourages legislative and executive officials to aspire to China’s control of information and deterrence of whistle-blowing.

Amazon, por su parte, informa que:

There have been reports that a government inquiry prompted us not to serve WikiLeaks any longer. That is inaccurate.

There have also been reports that it was prompted by massive DDOS attacks. That too is inaccurate. There were indeed large-scale DDOSattacks, but they were successfully defended against.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) rents computer infrastructure on a self-service basis. AWS does not pre-screen its customers, but it does have terms of service that must be followed. WikiLeaks was not following them. There were several parts they were violating. (...)

WikiLeaks dijo hoy a través de Twitter que la empresa EveryDNS.net ha "acabado con el dominio WikiLeaks.org" y que ha justificado la medida por los masivos ataques informáticos que el sitio de internet está sufriendo desde que empezó a publicar documentos diplomáticos de Estados Unidos. (...)

El cerco a WL continúa: PayPal ha suspendido la cuenta de WL, de modo que WL no reciba donaciones, según puede leerse hoy en el New York Times:

The termination of PayPal’s relationship with WikiLeaks was described in a blog post on the official PayPal blog:

PayPal has permanently restricted the account used by WikiLeaks due to a violation of the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, which states that our payment service cannot be used for any activities that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity. We’ve notified the account holder of this action.

El mismo NY Times añade que:

Another service, Datacell, which claims on its Web site to be under “Swiss/Icelandic control,” appears to continue to be accepting donations on behalf of WikiLeaks.
