Lawrence block

Lawrence Block es un escritor estadounidense nacido en Buffalo en 1938. Es un reconocido escritor de novela negra famosos por dos de sus sagas que se desarrollan en las calles de Nueva York.Estudió en el Antioch College en Ohio pero se fue antes de terminar la carrera.Su primer trabajo lo publicó en 1950 bajo seudónimo en colaboración con Donald E. Westlake y Robert Silverberg en el campo de la literatura erótica.En 1958 publicó su primer trabajo firmado con su propio nombre titulado: “You can´t lose”.
Es un autor muy prolífico, ha publicado más de cien libros y un sinfín de relatos cortos. Escribe bajo varios seudónimos entre otros: Jill Emerson , John Warren Wells , Lesley Evans , y Anne Campbell Clarke .Ha colaborado en revistas y periódicos, una de sus columnas semanales en el New York Times, ha dado lugar a una serie de libros de ayuda para escritores. También ha escrito guiones para el cine y la televisión. Y varias de sus obras se han llevado al cine.Sus libros se han traducido en muchos idiomas y ha logrado varios premios entre ellos, el “Edgar”, el “Shamus”, el premio japonés “Maltese Falcon”, el  “Grand Maître du roman Noir”, el premio norteamericano que concede el: “Private Eyes Writers of America”. En 1993 fue nombrado “Grand Master of Mystery Writers of America” el premio más importante que otorga la unión de escritores de misterio de América.Vive en Nueva York desde hace mucho tiempo junto a su actual mujer Lynne con la que comparte su amor por Nueva York y su pasión por los viajes, juntos han llegado a visitar alrededor de 160 países. Tiene tres hijos de un matrimonio anterior.
