Este pasado domingo, se celebró en el Barclays Center de Nueva York la nueva edición de los MTV Video Music Awards, que volvió a contar con actuaciones en directo después que de la edición pasada no lo permitiera por la pandemia del Covid-19.

En esta nueva edición, Justin Bieber partía como el gran favorito con un total de siete categorías, pero finalmente los grandes triunfadores de la noche fueron Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo y BTS, que se llevaron a casa tres estatuillas respectivamentes, aunque en el caso del rapero logró el premio principal en la categoría de Vídeo del año por ‘MONTERO‘. Bieber consiguió dos galardones en las categorías de Mejor artista y Mejor canción pop por ‘Peaches‘. Por su parte, Megan Thee Stallion se fue de vacío a pesar de ser una de las artistas más nominadas de esta nueva entrega.

Además, Rosalía se hizo con el premio en la única categoría en la que estaba nominada: Mejor canción latina por ‘Lo vas a olvidar’ junto a Billie Eilish. También fue una buena noche para Beyoncé, que consiguió el premio técnico a Mejor fotografía por el vídeo de ‘Brown Skin Girl’, lo que le permite extender su récord como la aritsta joven con mayores galardones acumulados en la historia de los MTV Video Music Awards, un total de 30.
