“RESISTANT” (Resistente) esa era la palabra que colgaba orgullosa de las prendas de la propuesta Matthew Miller Fall-Winter 2015 Menswear. Los tejidos son una de las cosas más brillantes de esta firma que lleva colaborando en la creación de sus textiles junto a la empresa Kvadrat una de las más importantes de Europa. Sastrería masculina deconstruida, piezas entalladas al cuerpo, más no ajustadas, se quedaban superpuestas, cómodas, elegantes, quizás buscando el orden dentro del caos. Matthew definía para Style.com la colección y sus tejidos como “Así es la textura de la vida…Cuando se frota o cicatriz, se convierte en algo hermoso.” quizás ahí radica la belleza de las prendas, flecos y un reinventado patchwork aparecen sutilmente en la colección. Una de mis favoritas de esta ultima edición de la London Collections Men. RESISTANT, es más que sólo una frase para definir el alma de la colección y los tejidos de la misma, RESISTANT, es un llamado a seguir en pie pese a los duros momentos que vivimos, y es quizás el futuro de la moda esta ahí, en buscar su mensaje. Oh bueno, espera, ¿Acaso no es esa la principal razón por la que nació la moda? y es que a veces entre tanta opulencia se nos olvida el verdadero sentido de la moda. Mostrar, no sólo con palabras, nuestras ideas y actitudes. Gracias Miller por recordarnos que la moda sirve para dar un mensaje de esperanza entre la destrucción.
