Hace ya algún tiempo conocimos a través de Twitter el proyecto de Mi Mesa Vintage y nos encantó la idea. Mi Mesa Vintage es una boutique que se dedica al alquiler de vajillas vintage para todo tipo de eventos. En su web se puede ver una seleccion de las piezas que componen la coleccion, asi como los precios y terminos para el alquier. Ofrecen un servicio totalmente personalizado, pudiendo elegir las piezas, formas y colores. Además añaden constantemente nuevas piezas. El servicio tambien incluye asesoramiento y ayuda con la decoracion, para darle un aire romantico y vintage a cualquier evento.
Some time ago, Twitter helped us meeting Mi Mesa Vintage and we immediately got fascinated by this project. Mi Mesa Vintage is an e-shop which offers vintage dinner services to rent for all kind of events. You can find a wide range of pieces in the website, as well as prices and rent conditions. Their aim is to provide a highly customizable service, so different pieces, shapes and colours are at customer’s disposal. Besides, they never stop adding new pieces to the collection. Customers are also offered decoration advice, included in the service, to give a romantic vintage look to any event.
Detrás de esta idea está Jana, una enamorada de Inglaterra, que un buen día cogió su maleta y se plantó en Manchester. Allí conoció al que en breve será su marido. La madre de este, Pat, fue la inspiradora de Mi Mesa Vintage. Jana nos cuenta que tiene una casa maravillosa llenas de detalles entre los que le cautivó la colección de piezas de porcela. En palabras de la propia Jana: “Una de las cosas que me fascinó, desde el primer momento, fueron las miles de tazas, platos y teteras vintage, auténticas obras de arte y, lo mejor de todo, todas diferentes entre si. ¡Sus armarios para mí son el Paraiso!”. Gracias a su suegra, Jana descubrió los secretos de la porcelana, las mejores marcas, la historia detrás de cada fábrica y cómo encontrar las mejores piezas.
Jana is the heart of this project. She had always been very fond of England, and one day she packed up and moved to Manchester. There, she met who soon will become her husband and his mother, Pat, who inspired Jana the first plan of Mi Mesa Vintage. Jana tells us Pat’s got a lovely, full of details home and she was especially captivated by her porcelain collection. In Jana’s own words: “From the very beginning, one of the things I fell in love with was the huge amount of vintage cups, plates and teapots, and best of all, all pieces were different. Pat’s lockers are just like heaven!”. Thanks to her future mother-in-law, Jana discovered porcelain secrets, the best brands, every factory’s own history and how to find the best pieces.
Cuando Jana decidió casarse, desde el principio tuvo claro que todo tenía que ser muy british y 100% vintage. Quería cuidar cada detalle, haciendo que fuera una boda íntima y personal. Por supuesto, parte importante sería la vajilla. Ya había comenzado a coleccionar porcelana, pero con la organización de la boda la busqueda se hizo más intensa y fue entonces cuando surgió la idea de crear Mi Mesa Vintage. El interés mostrado por mucha gente que quería utilizar las piezas en sus propias bodas, bautizos, cumpleaños… fue decisivo.
When Jana decided to get married, she was always certain that everything had to look British and be 100% vintage. She wanted to take care of every little detail to make an intimate, personal wedding. And of course, the dinner service would be very important. She had already started collecting pieces of porcelain, but the search become more intense as soon as the wedding arrangement started. And that’s where Mi Mesa Vintage came up. It was decisive seeing how people was interested in her pieces and wanted to use them in their own weddings, birthdays…
