Museo de la Seda

La restauración del Colegio del Arte Mayor de la Seda ya es una realidad. He tenido la oportunidad de asistir a un acto histórico para la ciudad de Valencia y contemplar como gracias a la Fundación Hortensia Herrero se ha hecho realidad este proyecto, en el que se ha recuperado un trozo de la historia material e inmaterial de la ciudad, ya que el gremio de los sederos fue referente en el resto del mundo y uno de los motores de la economía valenciana.

Con esta rehabilitación, además de recuperar uno de los edificios más destacados de la arquitectura y la cultura valenciana. La edificación data del siglo XV, de base gótica y contiene una importantísima riqueza patrimonial en su interior en forma de frescos, murales y mosaicos.

El archivo del Colegio del Arte Mayor de la Seda es el más importante de Europa y conserva un gran número de ejemplares desde su inicio hasta la actualidad. El proyecto recupera uno de los símbolos del esplendor de Valencia y se convierte en Museo de la Seda.

Valencia ciudad de la seda 2016, dentro del programa de la UNESCO para promover el turismo sostenible y conservar el patrimonio de la Ruta de la Seda, se agranda con el Museo de la Seda, el cual ya podemos visitar y contemplar un patrimonio único relacionado con la seda y la historia de la moda.
