Neal peart nombrado como el batería progresivo más influyente

Según atestigua el medio digital Examiner, los seguidores de Rush han ayudado a Neal Peart a poderse emcubrar como el batería de rock progresivo más influyente de todos los tiempos. El título ha sido otorgado por los lectores de la revista Rhythm, quienes votaron el clásico en estudio de 1981, Moving Pictures, como el álbum de batería más influyente, situando a Peart en la cima de la lista entre varios otros baterías de la élite progresiva.El extraordinario batería y sus compañeros de banda ganaron la encuesta “por palizón”, seguidos de lejos por el ex Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy (Systematic Chaos, 2007), Danny Carey de Tool, (Aenima, 1996), el Phil Collins de Genesis (The Lamb Lies down on Broadway, 1974) y Gavin Harrison de Porcupine Tree (Fear of a Blank Planet), entre otros.La revista británica dedicada a la batería y percusión describe a Peart como un músico que “ha grabado en cada sesión todas posibles secuencias rítmicas, rellenando los espacios con meticulosidad, teniéndolo todo estrictamente planeado y ensayado.” Añaden que: “Tan desafiantes como las partes a las que se enfrenta, es un batería muy físico y potente que nunca sacrifica el volumen y su compromiso para la complejidad.”Como todos sabéis, Rush publicará una caja conmemorativa de su 40 aniversario el próximo mes de noviembre, primero en Blue-ray, bajo el título de R40, donde se incluirán actuaciones en directo de cada década de su carrera, así como un disco extra con material en directo nunca antes visto de 1974 hasta 2013.
