Hello everyone on this first day of bridge. Since we are immersed in the holidays, and heat overwhelmed, I propose my final destination in Germany: In the region of Bavaria, Neuschwanstein Castle. I have been impressed by this place. It is the setting of one of my favorite video game: Gabriel Knight (The Beast Within). And it is full of legends and historical beauty that overwhelms the visitor.
It was built under the reign of Louis II (King of Babiera) especially designed for retirement, but after his death was opened to visitors with increasing success, so Neuschwanstein is today one of the most visited castles in Europe. Approximately 1.4 million people pass through "the king's castle fairytale". In summer crowd over 6,000 dayly visitors, admire the rooms that were intended for just one resident (for more information please click here). I was one of them.
The castle style and location match the personality of the Luis II, a king with rights and duties (he was not an absolutist king). To know you better and understand this fairy tale castle is necessary to say that he was a music lover, an admirer of the performing arts and the voluptuous Baroque art. He dreamed of the past, he wore historical clothing and walked like that in the vicinity of his residence. He ordered the creating castle in Linderhof, in the valley of Graswang using the most advanced and modern techniques in 1868, a luxury !!
