Jadeveon Clowney no recibirá extensión de contrato

El pass rusher estrella de los Houston Texans, Jadeveon Clowney, no recibirá una extensión de contrato por parte de su equipo antes de que se cumpla el plazo de llegar a un acuerdo con jugadores que tienen el franchise tag. Clowney, quien fue la primera selección del Draft 2014, jugará la temporada 2019 bajo dicha etiqueta con un valor mayor a los $15 millones. Asimismo, Houston estuvo muy lejos de llegar a un acuerdo con el defensivo y probablemente se convierta en agente libre para 2020.

Robbie Gould extiende contrato con los 49ers

Los San Francisco 49ers han llegado a un acuerdo con el kicker Robbie Gould para que el jugador permanezca en el equipo antes de que se cumpliera la fecha límite para negociar con quienes recibieron el franchise tag.

Gould, de 36 años, quien la semana pasada se dijo estar “incierto” sobre su futuro en caso de que el equipo no lo intercambiara, firmó una extensión de contrato por 2 años valuada en 10.5 millones de dólares completamente garantizados. Aunado a esto, dicho contrato cuenta con una cláusula en la que puede extenderse a cuatro años con un valor de $19 millones, siendo $15 millones en garantías.

Derrick Morgan anuncia su retiro de la NFL

El linebacker Derrick Morgan anunció este lunes su retiro de la NFL tras haber disputado 9 temporadas en la liga. Morgan, de 30 años, fue seleccionado en la primera ronda del Draft 2010 por los Tennessee Titans, equipo con el que jugó toda su carrera. Desde dicho tiempo, el defensivo acumuló 305 tackleadas, 44.5 sacks, 5 fumbles forzados, 4 fumbles recuperados y 26 pases defendidos.

It’s been real… I’ve been playing this game since I was 9 years old. Over the years it’s brought a lot of struggle, triumph, adversity and joy to my life. It’s help shape me into the man I am today. But for the longest the game was “who I was”..it was my IDENTITY. I didn’t know who Derrick Morgan was outside of this game. I tried to shake this reality in a business that tells you your value IS your performance. However the one thing that helped me evolve as a man over the years was knowing that I couldn’t play this game forever..that there was life after football. I realized early on the importance of this platform and my goal has been to use it for good. I had a strong inclination going into this year that this would be my last. I’ve always said 2 things about my career. 1. I would play as long as it made sense. And 2. I wanted to leave the game on my OWN terms. And over 9years, 5 head coaches, 9 surgeries, and seeing a locker room turn over multiple times I am thankful to say that I accomplished both of these goals. It’s been a pure blessing to live out a childhood dream and I’m THANKFUL to the @titans organization for giving me my shot, my fans, friends and family over the years who’ve been a huge support and most importantly God for bringing me this far. I always hated the word “retire” it insinuates sitting on the beach and playing golf everyday (both good things) but I like the word “transition” better. I’m looking forward to this next phase of life and doing purposeful work through @kngdm_group and helping to create more opportunities for those who are underserved and overlooked. Once again thank you for the support And please stay tuned. I’m just getting started. ✌🏽

Kendrick Norton saldría del hospital la siguiente semana

El defensivo de los Miami Dolphins, Kendrick Norton, quien sufrió un accidente de auto hace una semana que provocó que perdiera su brazo, será intervenido quirúrgicamente por sexta vez para cerrar las heridas que tiene. El egresado de la Universidad de Miami podría salir del hospital la siguiente semana de salir todo con normalidad.

#Dolphins DT Kendrick Norton, who lost his arm in a car crash more than a week ago, will have his sixth surgery today to close up the wounds, agent Malki Kawa tells me. Doctors believe this will be his final surgery and he could finally be released from the hospital by next week.
