Hoy quiero compartir con vosotr@s un momento muy especial de mis vacaciones. Uno de mis momentos preferidos del mes de agosto es la lluvia de estrellas fugaces de las Perseidas también conocidas como las lágrimas de San Lorenzo que tienen lugar entre el 10 y el 15 de agosto (más o menos). Un espectáculo astronómico fácil de ver sin necesidad de artilugios.
En realidad las Perseidas son pequeños restos de un cometa y en esas fechas la Tierra atraviesa esa zona. En cuanto entran en contacto con nuestra atmósfera se vuelven incandescentes por unos segundos dejando tras de si un rastro de luz. Esa es una explicación "científica" pero la mágica me gusta mucho más... ya sabéis... pedir un deseo cuando se ve una de estas estrellas.
La noche del 12 de agosto en la Playa del Castell de Palamós se dieron cita parejas, familias y grupos de amigos para organizar picnics y tumbarse cómodamente sobre la arena para ver el espectáculo y claro está, pedir un millón de deseos.
Para ello preparé un picnic sencillo a base de ensalada alemana, focaccia, unos melocones y una botella de vino. Foulares grandes y almohadones para tumbarse cómodamente y lo más importante, buena compañía y la mirada fija en el cielo para poder exclamar a coro con el resto de la playa un Oooooohhhhhhh que ríete tú de los fuegos artificiales.

Today I would like to share with you one of my favorite moments in the summer: the falling stars shower, also known as Saint Lorenzo's tears. Every year between the 10th and the 15th August it's possible to see this wonderful "natural show" without the help of any instrumental.
In fact, the Perseidas are little rest of one comet and in the middle August the Earth cross this part of the Univers. When these little parts take contact with our atmosphere they burn leaving a light track behind them. This is a "scientific" explanation but I love the magical one... that one that says that you can make a wish when you see a falling star.
The night of last August 12th we went to Platja del Castell ( a nice beach in Palamós) to share with couples, families and groups of friends this show confortably laying on the sand, and of course, making millions of wishes.
I prepared a simple picnic for this getaway: german salad, focaccia, some peaches and a bottle of wine. Big foulards, cushions to lie on the sand and the most important thing: my husband and a fixed view on the sky to claim OOHHHHHHH with all the other people on the beach. Exactly as we do when we see the fireworks.
