Portobello Road

Portobello Road alberga uno de los mercadillos al aire libre más famosos del mundo, nada más y nada menos que en el célebre barrio de Notting Hill (sí, ese que da nombre a la película de Julia Roberts y Hugh Grant donde se dejan ver en una ¡librería de viajes!). 
Quedamos de vernos ahí con  Mirko, un amigo que vive en Londres desde hace algunos años y fue genial. Me encantan los mercadillos y este tiene muchísimo encanto y personalidad. Celebrado cada sábado, es el lugar ideal para encontrar cualquier cosa que se tenga (o no) en mente. Desde discos de acetato antigüos, joyería y ropa vintage hasta sellos (¡compré un par!), comida, libros, muebles, juguetes y cualquier cosa que tenga historia.
Deambular por esa calle llena de personajes, con las bellísimas y coloridas fachadas, música espontánea en las esquinas, pubs repletísimos de gente, una variedad de idiomas y la vibra londinense tan vanguardista y a la vez tradicional, hace que se convierta en uno de los planes más apetecibles en fin de semana. 
¿Lo conocen?  Absolutamente recomendable.

Portobello Road is home to one of the most world famous outdoor markets, located nothing more and nothing less than in famed Notting Hill (yes, such name given to the film by Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant which show them in a travel bookshop!).
We met there with Mirko, a friend living in London for some years and it was great. I love markets and this has lots of charm and personality. Held every Saturday, is the place to find anything you have (or not) in mind. From antique vinyl records, vintage jewelry and clothes to seals (bought a pair!), food, books, furniture, toys and anything that has history.
Wandering around the streets full of people, with the beautiful and colorful facades, spontaneous music on street corners, pubs full of people, a variety of languages ​​and the London vibe so cutting edge and traditional, makes it one of the plans most desirable in the weekend.
