The Raveonettes are set to release their latest studio effort, Raven in the Grave, on April 5th via Vice Records. Eschewing their signature fuzz-laden take on Spectorian surf-pop, Raven in the Grave looks to be a more polished, post-punk — yet still maudlin — revision of their beloved formula. If 2008′s unsettling Lust Lust Lust was Sune and Sharin’s “Sadness Pt. 1,” consider Raven to be their chilly next chapter. Stunning new album track “Forget That You’re Young” is being offered now as a free download, and a lengthy North American headlining tour kicks off on March 30th in Philadelphia. Tamryn will support until April 20th.
“It has a mood of ethereal defiance,” Sharin Foo said in a press statement. “It’s dark but not bleak, like the single minded determination caused by crisis that is not quite hope but just as powerful. It’s the perfect winter soundtrack just in time for spring.”
